he's 100% correct, the turbo m3's that use pro-efi use a similar traction setup, they throw muliple CELs everytime the t/c cuts in, and a good amount of those cause limp mode.....

hmmmmm just thought, pro-efi has now made a plug and play ecu for the z4m....imagine the benefits of having a standalone ecu, flexfuel capability, proper traction and launch control :-)

Didn't you just say that the TC on the pro-efi causes trouble? Or you think thats been fixed on the z4m?

On the racelogic website, their sample video is of a stock looking z3m roadster

You think we'd need to go back to using a MAF sensor for the pro-efi?

yes i think we do :-( not quite sure how that would work?? then again the pro-efi is about as good as it gets, if the stock dme can do alpha n im certain the pro efi can as well... the benefits of pro-efi are huge..... and add flex fuel, traction control to the equation we talking a different ball game, this is the only standalone we have a proper plug and play harness for i think........

Ive been waiting for that HPF z4m to surface for AGES, HPF posted up links to the car but sadly it seems they cant get it running at the moment?? id love to know the hurdles they are approaching.............

someone on e46fanatics ran a stock s54 upto 700+ WHEEL HP for some time to destruction test the motor, i was fankly amazed it last so long, 30+ drag passes, Loads of motorway pulls.......... Its the german 2jz ;-) lol i the end it finally threw a rod after months of abuse.... this is on an 80k mile car BTW!! Very impressive.

what was up with the meth kit??

really interesting info about the s54's endurance....

I've had my rear camber adjusted from -2.5* to -1.6*. Since its very cold outside I haven't had a chance to test the increased off the line grip, but its gotta be there.

I'm still struggling with my wierd electrical gremlin, where a few warning lights randomly flicker and the radio shuts off for a few seconds. I've removed my ambient temp sensor which I thought was causing problems, but now I'm gonna try removing the radio headunit which I should have tried a while ago.

I don't want to play with the meth until this is solved. I tackle one issue at a time

I really want to do some 60 -130 pulls but I'm intimidated by the idea of doing it on public roads...

can the stock rear camber be changed upto -2.5?? thats alof adjustability for a stock setup, good info...

Re the electical gremlin are you thinking its anything to do with the s/c install or completly unrelated??

The H&R springs naturally give you some additional negative camber, thats why I was able to go -2.5

don't know where my electric thing is from....

btw my tuner told me that vt2-550 WILL be released for our cars shortly :-)

i cant help but think it will be getting to the realm of unuseable however in the z4m.....
for us 500 guys its only a few light mods and a new tune....

that sounds fantastic!

but I agree about the platform's traction bottleneck... I'm thinking all boosted s54s need to be running Viper sized rubber in the back to lay it down. The good news is that even though the Volk TE-37 only goes up to 10.5" wide, you can run 315mm rubber back there. Only issue is the additional cost. I'd REALLY like to do something like that in 2012. Nothing crazy in terms of bodywork, JUST enough to fit that in

In terms of my electric, its not my radio, but I'm beginning to think its my front throttle position sensor again, based on the kinds of warning lights its flashing. I'm gonna drop the car off at a shop and have them figure it out, I'm out of trial and error ideas

i honestly think you should try and proper road legal slick, im willing to bet it will be more than enough even in 265 section form..........

true............ i forget that small fact ;-) cant lie, id LOVE to fit some FAT rubber in the rear, as the arches are just stick/bolt on, it would be nice to buy some brand new ones and take them to a proper metal panel beater and have them properly massaged out... i think it would look insane.

no need for fat rubber, just need heat in those tires and roll into it launching at 1000rpm, and -1.5* camber on the rear. 44*F weather. There is more left in this car, I shifted into 2nd at only about 7500

(no complete 60-130s)

I'm EXTATIC to get 0-60 in 4.2s. That was my goal with this car, to match my old 1999 Viper GTS' 0-60. Just gotta get the 0-100s lower

well done roff!!! very well done!! adding boost to these cars throws them into a complete new category..... btw your 0-100 isnt to shabby either!! you should be EXTREMELY happy with those figures....... forget vt2-550, lets just loose alittle weight imo!!!

I'm very very happpy. Now I don't feel the need to spend thousands on that racelogic box or wide rear tires and modified fenders. At least for these power levels...

I noticed the road I ran goes up a slight incline after the 60mph section, so Im gonna find a flatter one for this.

Great for someone to finally post some performance figures for our cars, wish i had access to a vbox :-(
Now find a flat stretch, use all 8k revs and lets see some high 3s....

FYI, I was quoted ~$1500 for the labor to flare out the rear fenders while following the body lines, plus paint, in order to fit 10.5s in the back. For now I apparently don't need it, and will instead buy and install a linelock system so I can do reliable burnouts to warm up the tires =) =)

with the extra 500 rpm and squeezing every last drop of boost id wager you hit straight 4s or even less!!, dont discredit yourself.... this car is NOT easy to extract those type of numbers from especially with the blower, its definatly a balance of controlling the throttle, metering out slip and good shifting....

some 0-60s robbed from another site, excuse the messy look!!! pat your cars bonnet.... shes punching well above her weight.
just to make you feel even more smug!!! SAME as a 997 gt3 rs and v10 gallardo!!! And you dont have 4wd...... !! Now please get out and get us into the Porsche Turbo times!!!
