Windows Have a Mind of their Own!

Quite frequently if i try to close the windows, they will fully close, then open. It was not a big deal until I was closing the top and the window was fully closed. Anybody know of anyways to fix this?

There's an incantation to recalibrate the auto-up on the windows. I had to do it after replacing the battery. The key step is to hold the switch in the close position for a few seconds after the window is fully closed. You will hear an audible click.
See post #6 here.
Note that the windows are programmed to go back down if they hit the slightest resistance, so you don't accidentally strangle your dog.
It sometimes takes me 2-3 tries to get the passenger side closed. It rubs a little about 2/3 of the way up and often reverses.

Ahhh! thanks for the info. Come to think of it, I think the problem started after I got my tints. Could the slight thickness of the tint actually be causing the resistance?

Probably not so much the thickness as the tackiness.

Have the same problem with my '08 since new. Occurs occasionally, on driver's side- if it happens I just open the door and raise window. Didn't realize there was an easy fix as noted by StickMon. (I didn't want the dealer taking apart the door to get to the window assembly as this issue is a very minor annoyance.)

When I go to lift both windows simultaneously, but actually hit the driver's switch at tad late, both windows will rise all the way, but the driver's window will come right back down. It will lift on it's own on the next pull, so it's not a huge issue, just kinda weird. If I pull both buttons at the exact same time, there is no issue.

This is exactly how my windows work, if I hit them both at the exact same time then they stay up. If I close one window slightly before the other, when the one window is fully closed, the other will start to open at that exact moment.

Given how litigious we are here in the U.S. it amazes me that this feature even exists.
I'm sure some idiot has rolled them up on his hand/neck/wife/kid/dog/shmekel.
The auto-reverse has to be incredibly sensitive to keep BMW out of court.
