Apologies if I missed anywhere in this thread. I found the z4 "kit" OP referenced on eBay but I believe that does NOT incude LED's for the rear license plate. Can anyone here provide a link for that? TIA...

If any of you guys are interested, here's the brightest LED I could find that would fit in the non-M Z4 trunk which does not use a festoon. It's a T10 194 168 W5W 13-SMD LED.

Aha.. you're right... I meant a roadster...

That one looks like the same as the one I purchased. I think it is perfect for the trunk. The one that came in the kit definitely wasn't bright enough.

I still haven't found the best one yet for reading lights. I'm considering trying this one out.

So I got my trunk light and I don't like it. I don't know if it's less bright than the stock bulb, or if the stock bulb looks brighter because it's so warm. The LED light is very cool so it washes out.

For $2 bucks including shipping it was not a bad experiment. First person to PM me their address I'll mail them the bulb. The bulb barely fits into the plastic lens of the trunk so you'll have to force it in. I had to mess with the contact wires a bit (put them diagonal) so they'd make a proper connection.

P.S: If you buy this bulb they'll give you a 10% discount on your next order. If I liked the trunk light and wanted to order the rest of the set it would've been handy.

Ok, received my trunk light today. 39mm a little small, go with a 42mm. i made the 39mm work though by pushing in the contacts a hair. this was the 16LED

Wanted it to be perfect so I ordered a 42mm 12led but this one is a 5050 so it should fit and be much brighter even with 12 vs 16 leds.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/220951036181...84.m1497.l2649

As cheap as these are you can mix and match till you get it right. No shipping on most chinese bulbs

I'm sorry if this question has been answered already but I didn't see it in the thread. Is there any leds to replace the lights that are on when you have your head lights on that light up the gear shifter area? Thanks guys!

Looks like I was ready to buy these late. Just looked up the lights on ebay by easylife_go and they are $32.99 + $1.99 shipping. The $15 bucks that moustich got them for would have been more my kind of price. I'll have to keep looking for some deals.

I originally tried the eBay kit, but both of my license plate lights broke as well as both of the footwell lights, all within the matter of a couple of days. On the license plate lights, all of the diodes actually broke off of the light assembly (from vibration, I'm assuming.) The footwell lights seemed to have some issue with the voltage. Maybe I just got a bad batch? I don't know, but I was pretty irritated, considering the cost of eBay kit...

I ended up replacing the lights with LEDs from a company that I've been using for a while (and should have used for this car from the start,) This is the 6-LED panel that I replaced the license plate and footwell lights with a couple months ago, and they are still working perfectly.

http://www.ledlight.com/t10-wedge-6-...led-light.aspx

I've used other T-10 style bulbs from ledlight.com and have never had an issue, highly recommend them.

If you just want to one-stop shop, this kit worked out real nice on my Coupe, and included trunk and license plate bulbs too, in addition to all of the interior lights..
