Wow getting dogged on the vette forum!

I recently trade my C6 vette for a Z4M and had a lot of friends on the vette forum. After posting up the trade...I got my ass handed to me. many of the members were nice and said the Z4m is a good car, but many of them just went nuts! they said the Z4 was a chick car and the vette was a man's car! I researched the Z4M before i bought it and found the car to be very respectable and pretty damn fast. true, on a streight track the vette is faster, but on the twisties, the Z4M feels better and seems to be quicker (in my opinion). But the vette boys laughed and said the "chick car" can't touch a vette on any course! Well, what do you guys think? I'm happy with the Z4M and believe it holds it's own pretty well! Give me your imput!

That's the problem with forums - the fanboys come out in force.

Obviously anyone on this forum will likely be biased towards the Roundel. But they're both great cars; and for as similar as they are, they're also quite different. The guys on the vette forum need to grow up and realize their car isn't the godly piece of machinery they think it is.

BMW is still in business without taking government handouts.

Corvette screams MID LIFE CRISIS almost as loud as a blond wife 26 years your junior. The big difference is that you will probably be able to drive the Corvette three times in one night.

I drove a C6 Z06 and was underwhelmed......but I was driving a Lotus Elise at the time. Now I have a Z4M coupe......

I have heard the C5 is more of a drivers car than the C6, but have never driven one.

Jeez, these knucklers should talk. So the standard demographic for the Z4M is that it's a "chick" car, eh? Aside from the fact that that's utter BS, what about THEIR stereotype? 55+ year old grey fox (with toupee of highly variable quality, or some bad plugs), sans-a-belt slacks (double-knit or perhaps even rayon!), white tassled loafers with matching belt (if not into the sans-a-belt look), gravelly voice from 40+ years of smoking Newports, and that all-important accessory, the Members Only® jacket, complete with nasty Newport stench clinging to it like one of the cougars at his local watering hole. Oh yeah, his vette is ALWAYS an automatic, and usually has a huge golf bag hanging out of the back of it.

And they want to tell you your new car is a chick car? Puh-lease!

IMHO the BMW offers a better driving experience. The Z4M has an agility the vette lacks thanks to its size, lighter weight and better suspension. Also, it holds its resale value better. The 'vette is all about the powertrain. The Bimmer is about the whole package.

Try an autocross against a few of the 'vette boys, that will open their eyes....

I like both although of course i am a little biased towards the BMW.

If we could get Corvettes, Mustangs and such as cheap down here as they are in the US choosing a car would be very hard indeed! The C6 looks fantastic in my opinion but the interior is rather disgusting. It does offer quite a lot of performance for your money though.

To each their own. Different cars, for different people.

Seeing a Corvette on the road is pretty common and most people don't pay much attention to them. The Z4's are not seen as often so get more looks. I found this also true when I owned an older Porsche and my brother owned a new Corvette. A friend bought a new Corvette the same day that I got my Z4, same color. We parked them side by side and I was shocked at the size difference. The Corvette looked huge.

I have a video of me in my Z4MC on the Nordschleife overtaking a Z06 approaching Galgenkopf. That might shut them up...

Tell them your dick size is now back to "normal" now that you're in a car that can produce 100hp/litre ... the "Chevy" engine in the vettes, all of them, are dreadfully inefficient when it comes to producing power.

And we dont run leaf springs and 2 valve heads in a 40 year old push rod design

Corvettes are great performance bargains and litter the race tracks like puppies in Central Park. They are very fast, handle well but don't feel as agile, sharp and hard edged as the Z4MCs/M3s. They are huge even from the inside looking out when barrelling down to a 90 degree left hander. And out of the box they have the crappiest seats I have seen in "sports cars".

I would take my "chick" Z4MC anyday over an antiquated design with bench style seats. Of course, I am biased a bit

The vette fanbois are correct! It is a 'chick car'! Women overwhelmingly will choose to ride in the MZ4 over the vette. (It just pisses them off that they loose out all the time. )

lol@ BZZZE.

I was thinking of getting a Vette, but the whole midlife crisis thing mixed with the fact that everyone and their mom has one, made me choose the slower 3.0si (used MC's were much more than used Vettes when I was buying). I would take an MC over a Vette any day of the week.

The Vette is certainly an outstanding performer but build quality and interior materials are Cavalier level at best. There isn't anything exotic about it. Plus there's that dreaded mid life crisis perception about it's owners. As far as being faster to me anyone including my grandma can accelerate a car in a straight line, turning it is a whole different game and at the track the driver is more important than the car, reference utube videos of Top Gear episode of the Stig humbling a Stealth with a Z4MR and if you want to take it further Ayrton Sennas first lap at Donnington in the rain (it's on utube under Senna Donnington). Anyone who thinks the car makes the driver is quite delusional.

When you buy a Vette does a velour track suit and gold chains come with it? Seriously, I looked at the Vette and when I pay over $50,000 for a car I expect it to be quality. The vetter just felt cheap to me while sitting inside it. Plus I was scared that it would not endure the constant high speeds being driven in Germany.

That vid is fun, but the Vette isn't even remotely trying to run fast. They are tooling along on the side while you run by.

Anyone who says the Z4M is a chick car obviously has never driven one...

Here is what they posted on the corvette forum. they say the chevy cobalt is faster than the Z4M...

I don't know where they got this, but i would love to see some "real" results!!!

Nurburgring Results:

Cheverolet Corvette ZR1 - 7:26.4

Cheverolet Corvette Z06 -7:43.2

Cheverolet Corvette Z51 - 7:59.4

Cadillac CTS-v - 7:59.7

Porsche 911 GT3 - 8:03.9

BMW M3 E92 - 8:06.1

Subaru WRX STi Spec-C - 8:07.6

Chevrolet Cobalt SS 2.0 Turbo - 8:11.4

BWM Z4M Coupe - 8:12.4

He's almost as fast as the Cobalt !
