Oil Grade / Brand for a supercharged 2005 3.0

I don't think I'm re-hashing the typical oil threads as my question is a little different. I'm just starting doing my own oil changes on my 2005 3.0 Z4 that has an ASA supercharger on it. After a search I couldn't find any threads with recommendations for oil grade / brand for supercharged engines. I did find a lot regarding M engines, but that's a different story and my can is not an M. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendation regarding oil grade / brand for a supercharged engine. Rom3n & O-Cha I'd love to hear your thoughts as I believe you both have a significant amount of experience with supercharged engines, plus anyone else in a similar situation. I was looking at Amsoil Synthetic 5W-40 European Car formula. Yeah or Nea, I'd love some opinions.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave,

Amsoil 5w-40 Euro is good stuff, it's one of the only approved MB oils for my R320CDI -- I use it. However, Castrol TWS as specified for M series is probably the best engine oil you can buy period. Either should be fine, but I would lean towards the TWS.

Cheers

You want something for high heat abuse?
Amsoil 20w50 Race Oil. I've been using that on my turbocharged Jetta. I'm currently using Royal Purple in my Z4 but will most likely be switching over to the 20w50 as well once the supercharger goes on my Z this winter.

A good read to support the quality of motor oils.

Thanks

Thanks for the advice, looks like Amsoil should do the trick. pbdm4k I see you're in Toronto, when it's in I love to see the SC you're putting in your Z. I've got to admit I love the way mine pulls, I've had it out to Mosport on the pro track 3 times this year and loved every minute of it. I was able to beat on a new M3 back the beginning of the month with Z4. Great fun, I'm sure you'll be happy with the results.

Heck Davey, we should meet up for coffee sometime!
My Z4 will be going in to storage soon, though!

I can't wait either. I'll have quite the list of modifications and I expect to be beating on the new M3 next time I'm on the track!
