Spare key
I just bought a key from ebay and I tried looking for a locksmith that would cut it, but no locksmith will do it.
I called the BMW if they cut aftermarket keys, but they said they only order and cut bmw keys. Has anyone bought a key from ebay and got it working? |

they order keys from BMW and it's keyed and matched to your keyless entry system and does not need any programming. I did order from them $140 or so and did not require any programming. doesn't seem half bad since remote control programming is like hour labor(or $90+)
SUPPOSEDLY... They also told me that they do not have a key machine that will cut the BMW keys.

This is true.
All keys that you require for your BMW are ordered by the dealership and cut in Germany. Last time I lost my key, it took a week and $270CDN. They code them directly to the VIN number so they do not need programming. If anything, you may just have to do the start the car 3 times or whatever it was to get it to code to your remote functions.
