Storage Compartment Light always on??
Hi -
I just noticed that the storage compartment between the seats has not one but two lights in it (WTF?) and they appear to be on whenever the car is on, regardless of state of parking lamps/headlamps/interior brightness switch. Only after key-off and lock does the light go out. Can anyone confirm this ? does it seem normal? Anybody know if these lights are switched, and if so from where? thx! They are supposed to turn off when you shut the door. I bet you have a broken tab on your compartment door. It is at the very bottom and contacts a switch down at the bottom. A small screwdriver can be inserted to toggle the switch to see if that in fact does shut off the light with your door open. I used one to keep my battery from running down till I got the dealership to fix.Now that i think about it I don't believe mine ever went off with key power when mine broke. Should be a warranty replacement. Mine broke after I had it snag on a cell power cord, very easy to break as this tab is thin. I just dont store anything loose in there anymore.

Yep, it was the broken-off tab. I found it [ the broken off bit] last night by accident. My switch still works, so I fixed the problem with a very tiny screw next to base of the broken tab. The screw head just contacts the switch. Painted it black and it's invisible with the door closed. Thanks for the tip.
