The first question would be, do you have an original copy of CarSoft or a "cracked' copy? CarSoft 6.5 doesn't have all the modules in it. A friend of mine has it and when I run it on my 2003 Z4, it doesn't see some of the modules like the DME. I ran it last night and I see 9 of the modules... but I know a lot of the others I don't have... I'll run it tonight and let you know which ones I do see.. Chuck I

sorry for the late reply

this is a cracked version that came with the module under the heading of test software

Unfortunately my module can not see any of the modules in the car it says every one in 'not responding'

Any ideas.
i have found some info on another website but it just seems that they have the same problems with no obvious solution

When you plug the cable into your car, do the LEDs light up? You should see the LEDs change color when it's communication with each module. Do you know anyone else with a BMW? If so, maybe you could try it. I know I see a lot more modules on an E46. One thing you might try is opening the folder with CarSoft in it using Explore. Since you have the cracked version, there should be two Icons in that folder. One is the original and the other is the cracked Icon. Try double clicking each. One should work and the other will not... It's worth a try. Chuck

With regards to the lights

the module has 5 lights

Power
Service Interval
k-line pin20
k-line pin17
l-line pin15

the only light which isn't on is the 'Service Interval'

I have't looked if they flash whilst i am trying to talk to the Z4 but i will try again in a min

My mate has a 2000 320 coupe so i will try it on his car

Also with regards to the cracked version of the software, i have found the 2 exe files one wont even talk to the car (software crashes) the other gives me the fault of not being able to see any modules.

Thanks for your help by the way

That's correct... the Power should be green and K-Line pin 20, K-Line pin 17 and L-Line pin 15 should be all red... When you run the program you should see K-line pin 20 and pin 17 flashing (you have to look real close to see it... If you see them flashing green and it stays green for about 1/2 second, it means it's not finding the module... when it works correctly Pin 10 and 17 will flash very quickly and each test takes about 10 seconds...
