Help needed! Power roof with no power

Hi to all

hope this thread is in the right place. I have an 03 z4 3.0, i have had it 6 months and i am on to my second set of rear tyres. its great.

That is until the roof got jammed on its way down (i wasn't paying attection as the canvas rolled up on the roll bars). Now the roof will lock and unlock in both the up and down positions but it wont move.

Tried the obvious with the fuses in the glove box but am i missing some thing else.

Also is the only way to the motor throught the wheel arch??

thanks in advance for the help.

Garage List
Also you may wanna check that you haven't accidentally hit the roof lever in the trunk. I've done that a couple times when I've had a full load (in the trunk). There's a lever back there that you'll see (on the right hand side). Otherwise, it could be the soft top motor. I had mine replaced under warranty at 40k miles.

I am after doing the work myself, whats the best way to get to the motor.

Bare in mind i work as an engineer in a car manufacturing plant for GM in the uk, so i have seen a few tricks to get into horrible places in cars

just bought this bargain

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tab%3DWatching

but before i fit it i have just found out froma main dealer that it is possible that the roof module just needs resetting (you need a car diagnostics kit to do it) so before i remove the roof ill try it
