installing the AUX input...
question(s) part 2:
i did a search in the DIY section on how to install an AUX input. the only full one no longer has pics. i am thinking that i will pull the radio, and snake the wires down to the ashtray. my question is, is removing the radio as simple as pulling the center vents and then just removing the two screws that hold it in place? i know i can pop out the access panel between the radio and the climate controls, and figure that is how i will reach the cable and feed it to the ashtray. anyone know if that thinking is correct? |

Just page down until you see them. Pull the vents using a credit card also shown in the middle of the post. Your thinking is generally corrrect. Pull the vents, pull the radio. Pull the ash tray module, all as directed in the posts. Easy to run the wire behind the climate controls and there is no need to remove them. Pay attention to the wiring instructions on the back of the head unit. About 30-60 min. to install with no real skills or special tools required. Good luck! |

Did you check the price at Tischer? They generally beat everyone. Here's the link:

I have yet to install the Aux adapter into my Z4, but I want to try to put the port on that panel under the climate controls, I think that's where it is on the 07's that come with it already installed.

it's in... the only hassle was removing the vents... other than that it went well.
figure that the AUX INPUT part arrived today, but the cord i got on amazon didn't... guess i'll have to wait to see how it sounds. |
