06 3.0si, engine compartment question
I purchased my z4 used, so I'm not exactly sure what stock looks like.
In the engine compartment, in the area closes to the passenger side firewall, there is a large area with just refrigerant lines running through. Just wondering if something was meant to go there? Also, there is a gaping hole in that same area that I can see the side BMW turn light signal, etc.. Is this normal? I also noticed that my valve cover is silver, instead of the black that I've seen in most pictures. Thanks... |

Welcome aboard, it's a great place for advice / info/ et al about the cars.
Can you post a picture of your engine bay, specifically the area where your issues are. You can also take a look at a recent thread about engine bays... http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189748 As for the hole, I don't recall seeing one in mine, take a look at the photos I've posted on the other thread to compare. dave |

Correct! Your Flux Capacitor is missing, without it time travel is impossible. For those non-time traveling tourists/professionals, this is considered an optional item with the benefit of reduced vehicle weight and therefore better performance. BTW, American cars have this option also but with a greatly reduced time continuum access.

In all seriousness...
I always assumed that the area you're talking about is empty because we have the left-hand drive version. If you had a right-hand drive version, a lot of the stuff on the left would be moved over to the right side (steering, brake master cylinder, other brake stuff, etc), and you'd probably have an empty area on the left then. |
