Soon to be Z4M Roadster owner

I just got back from spending 2.5 months in Germany, and in the process became set on getting a Z4M Roadster when I returned.

Previously I've owned a '97 Z3 2.8 several years ago and absolutely loved the car, but sadly had to give it up when a streak of bad luck hit the companies I was working for. I'm in a much better situation now and the M is finally within reach.

I just put down a deposit on this car, and I'll be traveling to check it out this weekend and make the final decision. It's a 2006 with only 2424 miles, and it's got heated seats and cruise. I'm fairly certain I can talk them down on the price given that several other M's are selling for much less in other parts of the state.

Is there anything I should know or watch out for before getting myself into an M?

Yes. Careful of the addiction to want to drive it all the time, and making excuses to go places to do so.

Good luck on getting a better price...I think that is a smoking deal as it is. I used to live in South Tampa. Boy do I miss the 12 months of summer tires

Imola/Imola is a nice combo, has a nice contrast with the rest of the black interior. Good find.

Exactly the color I would have ordered if it had came with extended leather,

I love the Imola on Imola but I wanted extended leather more so I settled for black leather

Beautiful car but then again I'm bias

You could have gotten extended leather, it just wouldn't have been all red. I prefer that. Porsche's red interiors are too over the top for me, red leather, carpets, dash - there's not enough contrast.

Extended leather only comes in black or "sepang"

The Imola interior I wanted wasn't available with extended, So I settled for extended black

So what's the deal with the warranty on 2006 models? I think I heard the manufacturer's warranty is 4 year / 50,000 miles. I also see various mentions of a service plan, but I'm guessing that since the car is 2 years old that's probably not valid.

If your talking about CPO warranty I do not think BMW CPO's M cars anymore

It's not CPO...I just meant the original factory warranty.

you have a 4 year 50,000mi warranty from the date it was originally bought from the dealer...btw that is a great price.

Well, after a long 4 hour drive from Tampa to Jacksonville...I got it! The car is immaculate, the paint is flawless, and the pictures from the dealer don't even come close to doing it justice. And....I got it for $2k under sticker. On the drive home I was getting thumbs up from other drivers...even had one guy roll down his window and say "man...really sweet ride". I love this car.
