These came with several different engines, one of the earlier ones actually had our S54 in it(The Weismann MF3). The most recent one uses the 4.4L TT V8 out of the new M5 (The Weismann GT MF5)

This is a Wiesmann GT MF5. It's powered by the BMW S85 V-10 (E60 M5 and E63 M6). Other Wiesmann models use different BMW engines.
http://www.wiesmann.com/en/home The GT MF5 is a serious piece of kit - check out the interior. Not available in the US, as I recall the price is just south of 200,000 euros.

My faith in the internet is now at an all-time low!
Thanks for correcting me. There does seem to be confusion on the internet, but even the link that I sent clearly says the GT MF4 and 5 are powered by the a twin-turbo V-8 in the GT4 (possibly a variant of the S62) and a twin-scroll turbo V-8 in the GT5. Seems like the S54 is still begin used in the MF3 roaster.

The Wiesmann GT MF5 in the "flesh" is absolutely stunning and with the Gillet Vertigo is one of my very favourite cars. There were over a dozen Wiesmann's (Coupes and Roadsters) at The Ring when I was there a couple of years ago. Although I don't like black cars, this one got my vote. They are QUICK! The nicest one I've actual seen though was an iridescent Lime Green colour. The interiors are also beautiful.
There is a slight resemblance to the Morgan Aero 8 from the rear view, but the Aero 8 is just a design "mess". I took the photo below a few years ago when I was passing the Morgan factory, and it was one of the prototypes before production began. |
