new to me z4m coupe
Well finally today I got delivery of a 2007 z4m coupe with only 4,500 km on it.
I had before a modded 135i, then a b8s4 (so many problems), that I decided to go back to bmw. Now I willl have to get used to stick shift. (only drove one for a year when I was 18) I have been reading through the forums and as I some other members have experienced the 1 and 2 shifts are rough as if something wouldnt let the gear engage correctly. I have some correctios for this (engine shifted correct?), but wanted to ask firsthand what is the best solution for this. lastly here in mexico roads are pretty bad I wanted to know if there is a space saver combo I can buy that will work even after I change to a bbk. regards diego |

1st to second gear shifts won't be a problem in your car with such low km's. My advice is keep the revs about 3k when you shift and disengage the clutch smoothly. I have no issues with mine, and I have 18km's on mine

I live in mexico city, the car was from a person from durango (city in the border of mexico with usa) . (security is really bad there), he moved to the us. and didnt use the car at all.
I took it to the dealership to very the km and they are reall and the car didnt have any damage. He took really good care of the car and serviced it regardless of the km. I am keeping this one for a long time as this will be my first garage queen and plan on modding it step by step. (all my other cars were dd ). lastly how do i know If my car has euro headers (mexican cars are usually imported from germany). regards diego Last edited by mexicobmw; 05-03-2012 at 09:13 PM.. |

This gen Z4 was assembled in the states, it would be odd if the car went to germany only to come back to our side of the pond. Nonetheless I would try to find your VIN on the master list of North American Z4Ms that is floating around. If you find it there, then you don't have euro headers... and if you don't find it on the list you might have em :P
EDIT: or even easier than that put the last 7 digits of your VIN here http://realoem.com/bmw/select.do?vin |

I think it's safe to assume you do, what are the last 7 digits on your VIN ?
Or you can check yourself if you go under the exhaust section and see what part numbers are listed for your headers |

You have the CSL Headers which are slightly lighter than the regular Euro headers.
Part numbers: 11-6-27-833-500 11-6-27-833-501 |

Very nice find, congrats. Love the color but I may be biased on that.

I love the color too. its silver grey. (I think as the invoice says only grey).
I also love the new car smell it still has, the only thing that bothers me is the clunkiness whiloe engaging 1 and 2 gear. but I guess I will get used to it. during the weekend I will take the cvd out. regards diego |

Nice find!! I went with a modified CDV and it made a huge difference for me! Also, I really like my ZHP shift knob.. My driving experience is so much better now and I haven't even done the tranny mounts.. Have fun,... the M Coupe is one hell of a car!
