So I'm curious, is this essentially a CSL Replica with added cold air snorkel? What's the difference between this sexy unit and the OEM CSL Manifold?

It's basically the same as the CSL airbox. Neither use the original MAF sensor. Several of us are using the RPI scoop, as the intake is almost touching and lines up with the radiator bulkhead. It comes with no decal, of course, but one can be easily added. The tune provided by Evolve is a bit different than the BMW tune. The air temp drops about 2 degrees F. vs. an aFe intake, and maybe as much as 5 degrees or more over the stock Z4M airbox. The intake sound is nearly identical.

Z4M's were never included in the CSL program, so not sure if a stock E46 CSL 'box can be adapted and if it can, what is involved in the tune. The Evolve system is pretty much drop-in. No codes. Hope this helps.

So I love the airbox... I am well on my way to becoming deaf, but that's partly my fault for keeping the RPIs on as well...

I have noticed though, that I am no longer able to heel/toe with this tune, has anyone else noticed...?

It doesn't matter if its in normal or "sport" mode, but if I am on the brake, I can't blip the throttle.

any thoughts?

See my post earlier, I can back up this issue also. Brake application renders the throttle pedal useless. Have spoken to the Evolve guys though and believe they are looking into this now. Have you emailed/called them though? As Imran wasn't aware of this problem when I spoke to him, and I only reported this on Friday.

I've done hundreds of laps of the Nurburgring in this car, more trackdays at other circuits than I care to remember, and I've definitely never had any issue with heel-and-toe before now.

It's ignoring it completely. Engine completely dies if you stay on the throttle and left foot brake (you can't hear the engine straining still or any induction note). Or if you dip the clutch and genuinely heal and toe, the revs just sit at idle. It's definitely disabling the throttle rather than just reducing input.

why are evolve so quiet though??

i don't think they've eve quite got a handle on z4m tuning as i remember the issues from the first tunes they offered on a GB years ago... i really wanted them to tune my s/c z4m but was put off a little due to that reason...

whatever i say about ESS the tune and general running of the car is pretty much perfect, i can left foot brake and load the car with the throttle no probs, its not an issue on my s/c speed density tune or Maf-less tune as we call it.

I feel the same way.....
They never really got it sorted & and never properly responded when questioned.

Not that I know of. I received my tune around Sept 14. I would be happy to work with Evolve on it.
