When I hit a deer, it wasn't nearly as dramatic... it also wasn't in a sports car either though. That's kind of absurd, just a little bit. Poor Porsche.

Yikes!

Given the zero visibility in the guy with the helmet cam, its a miracle no one else got hurt!

You guys should see the video of the Vette driver, that's far worse. The hoof of the deer goes through his windshield.

I think this is the 'Vette incident.

Oh course the same can happen on road, but there are more cams on the track.

Its kind of ridiculous that they havnt addressed the issue...

The most ive done was driving on the i5N and running over a flock of birds that suddenly flew out low from bushes and spraying their guts all over my friend's car behind me. I was doing around 80 and I thought I must of at least cracked my bumper. Surprisingly nothing happened to my car but I think i killed at least 4 of them

He surely did the right thing by not trying to swerve at that speed. He could've gotten himself killed. I'm surprised the deer exploded the way it did. I always thought splattered deer on the road were victims of trucks. Looks like at the right speed, even a small sports car and blow them up.

Any chance standard insurance (not special event insurance) would cover it (telling everyone the truth)? It happened on a track but really didn't have anything to do with the track event. I'm guessing not.

I've heard placed like Liberty might (if it was strictly HPDE and not timed nor competitive) but after that they will drop you. Your best is to buy separate track insurance from companies like Lockton or OnTrackInsurance.

Deer Kills with German Cars

My brother and I are both 100% kill ratio with German cars versus deer. His was a VW Jetta, and mine was an Audi 5000S. I still have the antlers from my deer, but when they jump out of the woods at you when you may be doing a bit over the speed limit, there is literally no where to go. This incident was extreme, but all large animal, vehicle incidents are scary. Glad this dude was not in a 'low rider'!
