Good muffler shop in Brooklyn?
Last night I noticed an odd rattling sound coming from under the hood. Checked it and it turned out my passenger side strut brace mount is broken (like the picture below that I found online). Seems to be a somewhat common problem on early models and most recommend welding it back on. Does anyone know of a good muffler shop in/around Brooklyn that could do a clean job at a reasonable price?
Also, are there any alternative solutions? I have seen some people recommend UltraRacing 3 point strut brace (http://www.ebay.com/itm/ULTRA-RACING...46b450&vxp=mtr). Would this make more sense than welding the broken base back on? Finally, I am assuming an alignment will be in order. Any suggestions for that? I used to get alignments at a BMW specialist shop in Boston but not sure if that's necessary. I already drove a few miles with the broken strut brace, so it must be off already. |

If you're willing to travel to Northern NJ I might be able to recommend a good but affordable shop.
You won't need an alignment for this. |

Here you go:
Alfa Import Center in Astoria, 718-381-6764. Ask for Giuseppe. Comes highly recommended from a person who wrenches on his own TR6. Says he's seen Z4's in the shop before. |
