60k Maintenance Service
I'm coming up on my 60k Service, I plan on doing what I can myself and what I can't bring it in to my indy shop
Where is the best place to buy fluids, filters, spark plugs...Tuner has a service kit is that the easiest way to go or piece meal it from various sites? Thanks

I live here in Chicago, but I don't think shipping would be a problem. I would check out the prices at Northside Imports and ask for Danny (ph#1-847-674-5550). Check the list that Turner has for the 60K service and request a price quote for parts from Northside. I have the same service due up in a little while as well. Tell him McKenna from the 024th district sent you. Good luck! Let me know how it works out.

I usually just piece meal it together from various sites (ECS, fcpeuro, getbmwparts, etc) - whomever have it in stock or short lead times for the lowest price (after shipping), because I'm cheap
I think you need to first determine what you want to do at an independent as not all independent shops will accept parts that bring in. Then work on your list from there. |

I think I can do all of it, beside valve inspection. Its working under jack stands and the impending cold weather that makes me reconsider..

I buy what I need from ECS and not interested enough in piecing it together to worry about paying a little more.
Also, I think ECS purchased Turner.

I did everything myself but the valve inspection/adjustment. What I'm not sure about is if the BMW dealer will give you a break on the Inspection II cost's if all they had to do was the valve adjustment. If not I'll just to go an indy.

I usually get most things from ECS. They have an affordable shim kit for valve adjustments, I'd reconsider doing that yourself to save some coin. It's cake on these cars if you can wrench a little. I'll actually be using their kit for the 3rd time to do my valve adj once I get home from this glorious Carmel getaway with the wife
