While off the car it was still open, bypass valves should be fully closed when equal pressure is acting on either side (and have some clamping force as well). I confirmed with Vortech.

This is why I did not want to disclose my dynos because then they would float around and be taken out of context which I'm sure would be very displeasing for ESS.

I am probably going to rename my car to Murphy, I can go through a long list of things not even relating to the supercharger.

Stock mufflers are pretty close to straight through when I checked, they only have a small bend, the performance difference would be pretty negligible. Most gains come from the headers and removing the secondary cats, or something extreme like what I have planned.

Kosei K1s. They are my track rims and staying on for now, so I do not kill myself.

Alright so another call to vortech and it appears there's a pretty crappy design flaw with these valves. If they are physically pushed open or you happen to run your car without the vacuum side attached and it sees enough boost to open the diaphragm will collapse on itself and stick it open.

Knowing that I went ahead and disassembled and rap ired it. I took some pics with the phone.

Not crazy faster the before, but definitely faster, the throttle response was the biggest improvement.I'm going to reset my adoptions and I'll have to get it redynod soon, I'll probably work something out with the dyno place and get them to let me swap the section 1 exhaust mid dyno session.

No competition, at all. 400+wheel 3200 pounds vs 350ish and 3500? I saw one on the road yesterday, he was too busy checking his hair in the rear view (I am NOT joking) to play with me.

So was the valve the only isse then. No pulley problems? Seems like you are working out quite a bit for an expensive kit. None the less, I am glad ESS is making something like this for our cars. Once I get a second daily driver, I will likely follow suit (except I could not do it myself).

Oh, If I can help you spend more of your mone - you drop in some pole position seats + race battery and drop some big time weight if you wanted. Apparently you can save nearly 80LBS+ by swapping 2 front seats. That kind of weight drop plus a light battery and you saved well over 100LBS. That kind of weight drop with that kind of power would be sick.

Not really worth the weight savings. If I did seats it would be after a roll bar and harness. I don't see that ever happening despite seeing the track frequently.

Not really that many problems for a new kit, usually they get hammered out after the first couple.

Sorry, not really, I've been really busy lately moving. I'm pretty sure I am still down on boost somehow though, I believe the defective valve was either only part of a larger problem or I broke it when I inspected it (based on the way it fails it's possible).

Gauge is still only reading around 5.5 pounds which is 2.5-3 less then it should be. I need to get to the dyno to confirm 100%

What sucks is I have boost leaked the car multiple times and there's no leaks, so if I am still down on boost there is a much larger issue. Once my new clamps come in (the ones with the kit are unacceptable in my eyes) I'll be double clamping all connections, changing my bracket for the proper one and heading to the dyno.

I did fabricate a shitty little camera mount recently after getting tired of the suction cup one. I'll post that up sometime.

Could the guage be off? I had that happen to an old subaru. Like you said, the dyno will tell but 3lbs off is quite a bit of boost.

Gauge is right, and it's reading what it did on the dyno, which is what leaves me to believe it was another issue causing my low boost.

I believe the diaphragm got torn when it inverted or when I repaired it, even a small tear will do to prevent it from holding pressure above the spring pressure. I looked it up and the spring pressure is either 5 or 11 inches, 11 inches just happens to be 5.5 psi and it just happens to be exhibiting the symptoms of a torn diaphragm, which is not holding full boost, bleeding boost on quick throttle applications.

This is just another reason diaphragm valves are a horrid design, I'm finding a piston valve that will fit this flange and be done with it. So much more reliable.
