I received my bushings and tool today, so I now have two officially complete kits. In case anyone's wondering, one kit is for myself, and the other is for a local Z4MC owner whom I originally fronted money for

Sorry, I never saved his #. We only talked on the phone that one time, and he was the one that initiated the call. He wanted to ask me about my specific order, since I was buying two total kits, and he just wanted to double check on everything.

Why? What's wrong on your end?

edit: ah, but I was able to find their regular #: 816-561-4269

I think this is the correct one. 1 816 6514269

He had both in an email I had but pretty sure this is the number I reached him at.

I will be getting the SSK installed this upcoming week, for $200 (approximately 2 hours of labor). At the same time, I'm also going to have the shop put in my 3.91 ring & pinion )

I would just wait it out a couple more days, or contact Ron in person to see what's going on. It really is out of my jurisdiction as I have absolutely no control over when/what is shipped out from their HQ in Missouri. I've already tried my best to have everyone accounted for via e-mails. All I can say now to you now is try to be patient, and good luck =/

Oops, you're right. Thanks for the correction! I must have mis-typed 561 instead of 651 lolll. My bad.

I just helped a friend install the AS shifter in his E46 M3 this past weekend- it really does feel like the best shifter I have tried so far but it was more involved than the UUC SSKs I have installed, mainly due to the zero clearance bushing on the front of the shifter carrier that is not part of the Z4M kit. Fortunately for you guys the shift carrier in the Z4M is WAY more installer friendly for this shifter.

Looking forward to feedback to see if the Z4M with the ZF trans feels as good as the M3 Getrag with this shifter.

[EDIT] After some break-in and an extended drive, I think I prefer my UUC SSK. While not as tight as the AS, it is a LOT easier to shift....the AS is almost like a gated shifter.

Yeah AutoSolutions is/was considered the best available in terms of overall quality, cost, and feel after install. I've already test-driven a Z4MC with this same kit and knew it was exactly what I wanted/needed. Which is why I initiated the GB for us select few

Might not be your mistake since he had both listed on the email I had. Weird thing was he made a point of spelling out to call 651 and not the 561 number. Then the 561 was listed below his name?

Have bushings and shifter removal tool in hand now. Now I'm itching to get this installed.

To those getting to this install sooner than later, please, please document the steps. We really need a good DIY for an in depth shifter install, be it an autosolutions kit or some other. I'll be documenting mine, but won't get to it for a while I'm sure - to many other things on my plate...

I've DIY'd everything on my car thus far, but I've no experience with short shift kits, so I was afraid to try DIY-ing this.
Plus, the shop that installed the original AS SSK was willing to hook me up for $200, so I was like HELL YEAH! LoL
But unfortunately, I won't be able to really document it as I won't be around...will be leaving the car at the shop for almost a week. The shop (Performance Technic in Pleasanton, CA.) is going to help me install my REM-polished 3.91 ring &pinion at the same time =]
Can't wait to get everything done. Planning to drop off the car tomorrow, and pick up in one week (next Friday)

I did most of the same steps you will have to do for the AS in my UUC write-up (it should give you a better idea of what/how/where anyway):

You might be in luck! There was one RHD GB member that requested a kit, but I don't think he's paid for it yet. Have not been able to reach him.

E-mail Ronald directly at:
ronald@autosolutions.net

Tell him that you want to take the only RHD kit. Good luck!

My SSK's already been installed, but they're not finished with my 3.91 ring & pinion install yet because they need to get their hands on a shim kit -_-
Apparently, they build more 4.10's typically, and the shim kits for those won't work with my 3.91 *shrug*
So it looks like at least a day's worth of delay in scheduled pickup
