Does anyone know what the ideal width 19 inch BBS CH is for a z4mc?

I just bought a z4mc with 19 x 10 ET20 on the rear and they stick out slightly which I think is illegal in Australia.

Next sizes down are

19 x 9.5 ET40
19 x 8.5 ET35

I would still like to see the dish from the edge of the wheel to the centre cap.

Do you have a photo of how much it sticks out in the rear? I just got LM-Rs and I was thinking of going with 10 in the rear but opted for 9.5. I am going to add a spacer in the rear because the front sticks out a bit more than the rear.

Front: 19 x 8.5 ET32
Rear: 19 x 9.5 ET35

My TE37's are sized:
19x8.5 fronts ET+30 w/ 225/35/19's (no idea why previous owner put 225's. Maybe for clearance issues? ) & -3* camber

19x10.5 rears ET+22 w/ 275/35/19's & -2.2* camber

The rears rubbed a little since I'm mildly dropped on TCK D/A's. I've since gotten the rear fenders rolled slightly, so the tires only rub on the plastic fender lining now. I don't think I'll be able to go 285's in the rear, will have to stick with 275's. But I do plan on widening the fronts to 245, that's for sure.

Yeah I am running Volk CE28N's in 19x8.5 +30 fronts and 19x10.5 +25 rears and don't rub with a 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 tire and I am lowered too.

I did just pick up a set of ADVANs in a 18x9 +22 and 18x10 +25 setup. So I downsized a tire to 235 and went 265 rear and no issues on an E46 M3 and Z4MC.

I am also running a Winter setup on my Z4M with my E9X M3 OEM wheels with a 19x8.5 +29 and 19x9.5 +22 with a 245/275 tire setup. No issues or rubbing either.

Hello,

I have ordered following wheels:

Front: 19 x 8,5 ET 32
Rear: 19 x 10 ET 38

The rules here in Belgium are:

1) wheels may not stick out
2) rotation proportion (hope you understand this translation) of the new rim + tire may not be less then 2% and more then 1.5% of the rotation proportion of the original rim + tire (see "omwentelingsverhouding" in http://www.tyrestretch.com/files/Tyr...or_English.xls)

The only tire size options I have (because of rule 2) are:

Front: 235/35/19 or 245/35/19 or 255/35/19
Rear: 265/35/19 of 285/30/19

I would prefere:

Front 245/35/19
Rear: 285/30/19

Will these tire and rim setups work without rubbing?
My car isn't lowered ... but maybe in the future I will lower it a bit.

Thanks for your help.

Yves

Your fronts will clear no problem with 245/35/19's, but I wouldn't try anything wider with that size/offset wheel. The rears I would try 265/35/19's first. If that clears, then upgrade to 275's next time around.
Since you're not lowered yet, 275's might fit fine, but once you're lowered (even slightly), you'll get rubbing with 275's I'm pretty sure.

I'm going off of judgment from my own personal set of wheels, which are sized 19x8.5 +30 fronts & 19x10.5 +22 rears. And I'm running 245/35/19 fronts with some rubbing on the fender well (black plastic) lining, along with 275/30/19 rears with some rubbing on the lining as well. I'm slightly lowered on coilovers, but only mild lowering. I've also got the rear fenders rolled a tiny bit as well. Still rubs on very big bumps or if I load my suspension and hit a bump in the road, etc.
If I have a passenger in the car, it's also easier to rub, even though it's only slightly.

Hi, guys!

I'm going to place an order for a set of forged wheels.
Is there any serious difference between z4 and z4m?

Original set of z4m wheels fits perfectly with plenty of room.

afaik, the main difference is front camber and stronger rear part of suspension. That means that I actually will have less problems with fitment (in theory )

hey all i need some friendly advise please for the rear... i plan on installing a set of eibach springs, and my main concern is the rear... i have two rear wheel options...

18x10 +38
18x10 +18

i should expect about .5 of an inch drop in the rear... Can anyone please help and comment on which of the two offsets would be the better, safer decision?

thanks, all.

See what some other people say, but I think the +18 is a definite no; drop or no drop - will stick out way too far.

+38 might have interference on the inside.

then again, just noticed you don't state what car you have either, that would help. Unless they are going on the pathy, then I have no idea what will fit

The fronts might be cutting it close. But the rears will definitely fit, since that's what I've got on my car

Thanks for the sites! I'm starting to look for a set of Wheels for my 3.0si and are totally clueless on what / how to go about getting the correct backspace/ET. I kind of like the idea of staying with the same wheel size but changing the backspace so it's slightly more aggressive... but I can be convinced to move to a slightly wider wheel as well so I can run a slightly wider tire. I do not want the Hella flush look though nor do I want any rubbing.

I'll be able to study for a bit with these and hopefully figure it out.

BBS Challenge for my 3.0 Z4 roadster 2006

Hello all

I ordered BBS Challenge for my Z4 3.0 2006 roadster, I ordered in 18" ( streets here are not as in US :- ) so I ordered for front - 225/40/18 8.5J ET35 and Rear 255/35/18 10J ET 35 its to replace the OEM 200 bmw wheels with 225/45/17 8J ET 46

Does anyone have that measure and does it works with no problems ?

i ask for rear BBS Challenge 255/35/18 9.5J ET 35 but they can only do with 10J for the BMW Z4 with that BBS models.

here is the rims I ordered

its I believe the same as Mr_130i_OZ but he has I believe 19"

My concerns? Up front, clearance with the strut. In the rear, should be fine but might be pushing it on the outside with the fender.

Custom designed, engineered and build wheels for E46 M3 however, as I said, I've been told that they'll fit the Z4MC - this from the guy that designed and engineered them and supposedly owns a Z4M too.

Opinions anyone?

Partly don't know why I'm asking, they'll be here next week, should have tires pretty soon so I'll let you all know for sure. Admitedly, it's been a bit of a leap of faith...
Update-
So with these wheels and tires on I was getting basically no rubbing under normal road condition but substantial rubbing up front under full compression. Good dips in the road or very hard cornering on a banked tight curve, like the really twisty mountain roads, would result in pretty good rubbing, inner fender liner, front outside edge. I recently got around to swapping my stock springs and dampners for GC/Koni yellows and Dinan springs. I expected the front to rub more, and it does, now over smaller bumps in the road but not the really small stuff. Now the rear also rubs under moderate compression.

The decision is this - sell them and try something else, or down size tires. The suspension is something that I definitely want on the car and I may change it over to a coil over system (GC makes components to convert the struts to coil over). Lowering any more than the minimal drop with Dinan springs may make it rub even with 245/40 and 275/35 tires.

Opinions welcomed.
