Ian, you know id recon it would look and be nicer to work on if you screeted the floor white. (hard to keep clean, i know, but also easy to keep clean if you get a good quality screet.)

like the one in the pic right? have you seen it first hand? the only worry id have with that is the individual floor tiles lifting, and you end up tripping over stuff?? or is it glued to the floor? I am sure you've seen it first hand, so great

Yes I have.
The tiles are not bonded to the floor they are floating.
They are interlocked to provide a strong cohesive surface.

They're also a dream to walk/work on, with a little flex.

Ian do you have enough room to open both doors?.
My house was built in the 60's, you would expect a single car garage built back then given the size of the cars to be wide enough to open both doors of a car inside of it.
Not the case, I am about 6" too narrow.

I know set myself up.

Yeah it worked out great Dave.
When I put the wall up I cheated it over to the other bay as much as possible.
I moved the lift over a bit off center of the door and I have full swing + 6" on the narrow side.

WOW, that's fantastic to have that much space.

My neighbour put in a basement under his garage but the local bldg. department was giving him such a hard time on the structural slab approvals he only did the basement under one bay.

Im guessing you know this already, but just in case, there are a few prep items that can be used (such as landscape fabric) to reduce noise in the finished product. (Been thinking of laying a deck myself at some point.)

Good call, I layed down 6mil poly prior to decking. I always had moisture issues in the spring. Have had zero issues in 2 years.

Lol, you've been following the same articles as I have.
I'm having to dig a bit to get landscape matting here this time of year.

Thanks Krissi, there's more ideas to come.

Yeah, it's really too bad that the rest of the production run on these roofs never got going.
He sure did an amazing job on them.
