DIY: E86 Antenna Removal

Finally did it.. i have shaved off the antenna.. Here is a DIY how to remove only the antenna.. to cover up the hole you gotta take it to a body-shop..

1. First open your trunk and left off the carpet board

2. Rotate the clips behind the tail lights both sides

3. Remove the four plastic screws

4. Pull off the rubber surrounding the plastic easily

5. Remove this clipped piece carefully, not to scratch other parts!

6. Remove that screw

7. Back to the carpet clip behind tail light and remove it

8. Remove this clip also

9. Push the trunk light from behind and pull carpet outward

10. Look underneath antenna and you should find this device

11. Once you remove it the black antenna base can be thrown :P

12. After it was removed there is an ugly hole.. so be sure u can take your car to a body-shop

i personally have disconnected the antenna+telephony cables as i don't use them at all but surprisingly FM reception is still fair i would say

here is a final pic in a rainy day

excuse me for my grammar mistakes.. enjoy..
