Rod bearings parts list

Hi guys, looking to get my rod bearings done pretty darn soon.. Probably living on borrowed time as it is, with over 205k kilometers on original bearings.. (No evidence suggests that this has been done by the po)

I have, thanks to Finn, a set of wpc bearings and bolts, now just need to get the rest of the list together while the engine is slightly open..

Chain guide comes to mind?

Anything else guys?

Parts list would be awesome!

And no, a stroker kit isn't on the menu this year..

Oil and filter, oil pan gasket. I'm trying to remember what else I've sourced, as I still need to do this.

I threw a new set of APR bolts on there and a new valve cover gasket as well when I did mine. Since I was under there I did all of my mounts but those aren't really related.

Has the chain tensioner ever been replaced? Replaced the chain tensioner in my E34 M5 that I suspect have never been replaced during it's 250K km life and the spring was almost "lifeless", the new one had way more play in the spring. Changing the chain tensioner is a 5 minutes job and doesn't require any disassembly.

If you're going to do the chain guides the front of the engine is disassembled and you might as well change vanos hub bolts, vanos gaskets etc. I would do this at a later stage unless it's a problem right now.

Imo you don't have to replace the valvecover gasket since it's being replaced every time the valves are adjusted. ARP bolts are overkill unless you're going to boost it. Replacing stuff that doesn't need replacement only introduce more potential problems.

You need to suspend the engine from the top of the car, since the lower subframe must come off to remove the oil pan.

I know you are in the Middle East but this is what I used when I had to pull the oil pan.

You can see why from this picture:

The exhaust from the header on back has to come off plus the lower reinforcement plate. Buy new bolts for this.....

Ship, thanks mate for chipping in, but will take this to get done by my indi, one of my strengths is realizing I am outa my depth, in terms of technical proficiency and equipment. So ill pass this on to my mech at Octane service center in dxb. Will do an oil change at the same time as its due..lol. no choice. :-D

Just starting to gether the parts..

This will be job number 2, to be done after my csl install..

Hmm.. or might get both done at the same time.....
