this is about as good as it gets for engine oil.... the r35 GTRs also swap to this oil from the factory stuff they use, really works well under hard use.

If you're still under the factory warranty then it's probably a good idea to stick with the BMW specified Castrol TWS 10W-60 oil.
There aren't many 10W-60 oils on the US market. Red Line and Greddy sell a 10W-60 but pricing is comparable to the BMW TWS product.
Greddy currently has a special on their 10W-60 at $40 for a six-pack with free ground shipping; that's $6.67 per quart.

Wow that Greddy GR-1 looks promising

Hey Jim, do you know who Greddy contracts to produce these 10w60 synthetics for them? I wonder if it's a legitimate oil manufacturer.

On the surface, it seems that the $60 savings per year or so (on average) doesn't seem to outweigh the risks...Our S54 motors still cost an arm and a leg these days

I wonder if using an oil with higher ZDDP than TWS will reduce iron and lead on UOA.

Anyone use LiquiMoly? I know a lot of people who are using it.
