Cool. I have some euro headers just sitting around. Been thinking of doing this same thing. Update this thread after more miles or if you get any codes! Are you able to check if all the readiness codes are completed?

...so same bungs in the same location?
From these pics it looks like they are welded at the base of lower bung nut.
Are yours welded in the same way?

I'm just trying to establish if there is a pattern here.
Maybe our systems are finicky to bung design & location.

Also; I assume you guys cut off the threaded portion rather than inserting it into the exhaust pipe?

^ I did not cut off the threaded portion , but if i had to do it again i would not use the lower bung nut just make the hole and weld it to the pipe.....

IMO the o.e. x-pipe sounds soooo much better with the headers , the re x-pipe was too raspy at high r.p.m.s

You only had rasp at he top end?
That's interesting.

I was thinking about doing the same thing.
Since I have the R.Eng on now, I'll probably experiment with both.

only at top end , and when cold . when it got warmed up low idle was fine to me it was not a nice sound , now with the o.e. x pipe it feels like i have more torque off the line.... huh ?

Interesting about the bungs, and interesting about the OE X-pipe.
I'm really torn between keeping my SS - X pipe on or not.
I think headers, SS-X, and Remus cans would be a nice complete system. I suppose I'll try both and see what happens.
My last chance of getting rid of my CEL will be to move my bungs approx 1.5 inches and see what happens. I can't believe it would make a difference or that the O2's are so sensitive that it'd change anything

^that's what is bothering me too.
I can't figure if it's just that our cars are hit & miss no matter what you do.
OR
Is there a particular bung install that works consistently.

Those J bungs that you got are what I was originally planning to go with.
Now, I'm not sure what to do.

A couple of related things I'm looking at.
1. Are the CATs loosing too much heat by opening up the surround shields too much.
2. try to pass as much heat as possible down to the CATs by coating the headers.
- I'm planning to do this XMC coating, which was primarily developed for the diesel industry but is now being used for other applications.
It is a dual coat system that coats inside & outside of headers.
