Looking for a little more volume. x-pipe? Help please!

I currently have a remus exhaust on my m coupe and I love the sound of it but Im thinking I can handle a little more volume. Rather than getting a new set of cans (since I enjoy the sound quality of remus) I was thinking of replacing the x-pipe.

Can anyone shed some light on whether this will be what I'm looking for? Will replacing my stock x-pipe with something like the RE one change the tone of the exhaust or simply raise the volume level? Im definitely not looking to add any rasp to the sound quality. Any performance gains/losses from adding an x-pipe? Thanks for the help!

Yes an X pipe will make it a little more ballzy.

I'm putting a set of Remus cans on my car this Wed. If u can wait, I'll report back; hopefully with a few clips.
I'm going to leave the SS X-pipe on for a while and see how it pans out. But with headers AND X-pipe there's considerable rasp.
I'm fairly certain if i put the stock X-pipe back in it will eliminate that, and perhaps regain a little bottom-end. Guess we'll see

Awesome! Looking forward to hearing some sound clips johanness.

I wonder if the euro headers, x-pipe, or both is the root of the rasp sound. The threads I have been reading about euro headers seem to indicate that they add a fair amount of rasp.

Euro headers will definitely add rasp becuase of the elimination of one set of CATs.
I'm planning to pull my Diablo X and go back to the OE X

Would it be possible to add a set of resonators after the xpipe to reduce rasp? I have RPi exhaust and want a little more noise, but don't want that bees in a tin can sound

I think Mfanatic was thinking about going this route. Shoot him a PM. I think the issue you have with aftermarket resonators are finding the space for them (diameter).
I have bees in a can atm, but not sure if I can bring myself to putting the Stock X pipe back on. I like the 'idea' of Headers, SS X, and Remus cans. I'll head to my buddy's house to get some proper sound samples this weekend.

My thought as well.
I'll definitely give ita go with the RE X-pipe, but from what everyone has posted, I''m almost certain to revert back to the OE X

REMUS

Got my Remus cans on today, and while I only drove 20 miles or so since... it's GREAT!

Much throatier & louder than I expected (everyone was saying how quiet these cans are). It could be because of the SS X-pipe and headers, but I think I've found my personal sweet spot for sound. Perfect db level throughout the rev range imo

For some reason it got rid of a LOT of the raspiness I was experiencing. Now it sounds deep and throaty throughout the rev range.
I can only speculate that there was more back-pressure with the stock mufflers, and it allowed things to get congested around the X pipe = more rasp.

All I know is that it feels and sounds great. I'll try and post up some sound bytes once I have them.

PICS:

Great to hear Johanness! The Remus cans really do sound and look nice.

Would love to hear some sound clips as I am very curious to hear what they sound like when paired with an x-pipe (and euro headers in your case).

Here's a sound sample of my wares. It's short, but vid's will follow. This is an interior sound clip (not out the back).

Cheers!

I've been in Alvins car w/ Stromung's and can say that it's a lot louder than his car. The clip is more for tone than db levels
