I have been slowly filling in a section of the coupe pages. So at least 5 from me yesterday. between work and home I can only get max 10 per day - depending on timing of the last entries....
Wanted to tell you that in the section I have been working (coupe pages - mid 400's) there have been 3 entries with an X in the 4th digit of the first 5 digit number before the LL. I just looked at the chronology of the numbers and made a decision as to what the number was and checked them. but i did not change it in the spreadsheet to what I thought it should be, in case I was wrong. I thinl I did them right, but just an FYI, in case there are others like it.

The entries are 444, 445, 458. I havent scanned up the list to see if there are any others like that.

Cool effort guys... although its a good point, how will it get updated when new vehicles get added to the list of "unfortunates".

Did my 5 for today, including mine. Will check in once in a while, and I may be able to do it from home. Sticky would be a cool idea.

Hey guys - in regards to my comment earlier - I have scanned the list and seen multiple other ones with an "X" in that first 5 digit number. like 934X6 instead of 93446. Is that a true number or is that an error on our list? If the X is accurate, I need to recheck a few of mine...

No way am I able to do this in a regular fashion... But anytime I see this thread pop up and that I have 10 minutes "to waste", I will do 5.

I have done it 4 times since the beginning. Not an enjoyable passtime. But I will contribute.

Would be nice to be able to get more people in on this.

Found one with (2) salvage dates... either someone filed it twice or they had one hell of a holiday season in 2009.

Found one with TWO salvage dates as well (Jan and April 2012). Interestingly, I found the car up for auction in chicago. Its been repainted maybe an estoril blue? It says the buy it now is $19k, which could be a deal for someone who wants to build a track car.

I think I forgot to highlight the salvage roadster I found a few weeks ago, so it's being suppressed with the rest of the clean roadsters. I'd do it but I don't know how to hide / unhide in google docs

I didn't hear back from the company that runs the website. I hate it when a company doesn't even have the common courtesy to reply, even if they're not interested in doing it.

I didn't see that you tired this already and reached out to their VP of Data Analytics this morning. Looks like the comms bounced around a bit and I just received the following from their Director of Vehicle Operations:

Hello Mr. ME, I was forwarded your email and I’m sorry to report that the restrictions placed on VINCheck inquiries was an integral part of a MOU that NICB needed to sign to get Insurance Claims information to be accessed to the public. There have been similar inquiries like yours requesting that the limit restrictions be raised but the member insurance companies have not complied as of yet. I will keep your contact information just in case there may be a change in the future. Regards,

Obviously, I don't expect the referenced changes to occur any time soon, but at least we have a better take on restriction.

It's Laguna seca blue and has been on Craigslist since at least last fall
