Easy on the color = rare things people, you'll get certain folks riled up.

According to wikipedia, 828 manual transmission Z4 3.0si coupes were built for the North American market. Less than half as many as NA market Z4MCs. Smaller production numbers = more rare, unless somebody changed the maths on me again.

Lol on the colors^

You can say the there is less manuals yes but not less of the 3.0si was the point I was trying to make but everybody is trying to make there car super rare. I never saw another black M coupe when I had mine so mine was the rarest black Z4M in Chicago and I painted my woodgrain a super rare color so my car is effectively one of one. Optioned to the max fella's.

Also the 828 seems extremely low, the number I got was claimed from somebody who actually called BMW to ask. So who really know's. I guess we will just have to accept that no matter what we think, everybody else thinks we are assholes for driving a BMW!

Personally, as time goes on and a manuals continue to go the way of the dodo cars like ours will increase in value or at least hold steady.

In all honesty though, the money made on this investment will be minimal and highly unlikely. From an investment perspective, there are better options. Even for the current money a pristine Honda Integra Type R resonates as a collectors item moreso than a Z4.

Muscle cars increased in value thanks to the boomers.

Think about what cars will tail end Gen X and millennials want when they have or "come into" money.
None. Millennials really are not car folk. Autonomous electric...

I really struggle with this on a daily basis. I bought my '08 Z4 3.0si Coupe in December 2014 as a backup to my daily driver '06 E90 325i. The E90 had 270K on it at the time. The Z4 was quite fresh at just 23,000 miles on it when I bought it. Considering the E90 was going to need some down time at the high mileage it is at, the Z4 has come in handy, but it now two and a half years later has 69,000 miles. A daily trip for me is 175 miles; so it adds up quick. But I can't let it sit too long because the critters like to set up camp my cars when they don't move every few days.

Yup, it's a first-world problem, but with a Z4 the only real appreciation you'll get from it is driving it.

Yeah - mine gets appreciated whenever I get into it. Have been putting miles on her with no worries. She went from 55 to almost 85 in the two years I have owned. I wouldn't feel bad putting some miles on a coupe either as there are quite a few out there still. If somebody's going to wear them out it may as well be someone who appreciates them.

I appreciate mine a lot because I drive it whenever the weather is nice. Which means that I don't drive it much (i.e., forecast says possibility of snow flurries tonight - I kid you not).

Thats what your not getting I didn't call anybody out, I stated a fact. What I said was right and so is what he said. I'm just saying the actual car has higher production numbers which is what they are judged on manual/auto etc.. its just an option to people. I'm letting this convo go as I don't care at all anymore as more people are just involving themselves to feel special.

Yup. From Environment Siberia err Environment Canada:

Chance of rain showers or flurries Tonight
0°C
Increasing cloudiness early this evening. 40 percent chance of rain showers or flurries late this evening. Risk of freezing drizzle overnight. Fog patches developing overnight. Wind northeast 20 km/h becoming light this evening. Low zero.

At least the heated seats and steering wheel in the X5 work nicely.

Huz, i seriously fly over your place a lot, and its beautiful on a nice sunny day, I often think about what its like to live in a place like that, (us Sydney siders melt at the first sign off a cold front and i wonder how often you get to go for a drive in the zed? Then i remind myself i live in the opposite corner to you and its the same for us, 4 months out of the year (like now) its too hot to do anything, can't even really go for a nice drive.. so i guess its the same, i wish i lived in a place where my kids can play (read: the old man can drive outside all day, everyday. LOL. You sure have some beautiful water/land scape mate. Enjoy. .. btw, more pics of the car needed with the new wheels.

When I first looked at it, I wondered if he had inadvertently typed an extra 9. Gauging the quality of the 'repair' on the back end from the poor pictures, even $1999 might be overly optimistic.

Met a neat lady over the weekend...

She just sold her silver '07 3.0 Coupe about a year ago (I'd seen it just about then in the church parking lot wondering whose it was). It was her track car. She taught high performance driving at Summit Point Raceway for 22 years. I walked her out to her '08 Z4 Roadster...

She was about 80 years old.

To copy Sean Penn... "Cool lady, really knows how to drive."
