I can't emphasize enough that this is a ONE time production run. I've been personally waiting on a part of this quality for two years. If your adding horsepower by adding uncatted headers this is a no brainer. Think about your future plans too cause these might be good to have in your closet if you ever go this route. Once they are gone they are gone.
Which gives you the option of the rare euro cat or a high $$$ Fabspeed piece that IMHO isn't close DKF quality or performance. Just my two cents. Hate to see any left out of this..

The other thing to keep in mind is DKF will be coming out with an X- pipe and rear cans GB.
You will NOT be able to get this section 1 kit at that time. So for a complete header back system, you need to get the section 1 now & the rear section later.

Sorry for the delay, here are the larger pics of the test fit kit.
As mentioned above the Resonator/CAT is just a mockup piece for the CAT, rather than wasting a good CAT.

What I understand is......
The coating minimizes exhaust heat loss, due to insulating properties. With more heat maintained in the exhaust gas there is better flow velocity. The interior of the pipe is also coated to improve this. Also, there will be less heat radiated to the underside of the car where the CAT wires run.

inTgr8r: which resonators are included? Seems the original discussion of the dkf solution indicated there were race resonators and two versions of street resonators.

Making three different ones meant smaller production runs and higher costs. ...which gets us to where we are now with a single design. I will check with DKF as to which one it is.

FYI re coating.
You don't have to worry about making a decision until the GB closes.

"The resonator is our street setup most members liked those resonators from the sound clips Chris made when he tested all our setups" Also.... Doug has his hands full battling rising flood waters in Illinois right now. Connection to the outside world has been a little spotty but we managed a facetime connection last night. His basement is flooded & he showed me the water creeping up in his back yard. He's been busy sand-bagging around the house, but here's hoping that the waters crest before it gets that far. So Doug.... if you manage to get back on line & see this; Take care, hope waters settle down for you soon.
