FS – Z4 HARDTOP Black Sapphire Metallic

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
SOLD !!!!!

$1,595 - Dealer price New - $2,900 for top only.

Fits Z4 (and Z4M) Roadsters 2003 thru 2008 with "Hardtop Prep" (see pics below of "prep" receiver).

I bought it 2+ years ago in Maldives Blue, had it painted by a Classic Car Restoration Shop recommended by my dealer. It was painted with correct OEM paint and Clear Coat.

I also bought a stand and cover (cover never used) from BMW parts. I liked this stand because it folds up into the Z4 trunk and does not take away much space.

Condition is EXCELLENT ! Of course a few minor flaws. I take care of what I own – especially if it has to do with my Z4! ZAINO detailing products used!

Also included are two lock down Allen Wrenches and R&L interior trim panels. Also have copy of adjustment instructions (printed from Z4UM before it died!) and BMW installation guide.

Here is a link to Real OEM for the parts -
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...30&hg=54&fg=15

Weight is approx 65 LBS - my wife helps me lift it on and off (she does not complain - out loud!).

Shipping – I will be happy to help prepare for shipping, but Pick-up is best. I live in North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116 – kind of in the middle of East - top of the South! I will consider meeting you part way depending on distance (any excuse for a Road Trip!). I guess this leaves out the UK, Europe and the rest of the world!

You need “Hardtop Prep” or you can add it. I had to add mine and parts are simple & reasonable. Installation a bit of an effort - I have instructions!

Reason for selling - I just don't use it anymore!

E-Mail me at jackbmwz4@yahoo.com

Best!
Jack

PS - I am still keeping my Z4!

This is the receiver necessary - also know as "Hardtop Prep"

This is the trim cover that fits over the post receiver - lifts off easily

Item # 10 is the receiver "hardtop prep", item #2 attached to the top, is mounted into the receiver and locked down with "tool" #8.

This is what the receiver looks like installed.

If you don't have this from the factory then the 2 parts below are necessary. The small wire in #10 plugs into the existing wiring harness to make the defroster work in the Hardtop window.

Left hardtop support - 1 - #54217043963

Right hardtop support - 1 - #54217043964

I checked my original invoice from 2/6/07 and it says that list for the above parts is $89.00 each. My dealer also gave me a discount off this.

You will also have to install yourself ( 2 to 4 hours depending on how handy you are ) or by the dealer who charged me $200.

Hope this helps!
E-mail me at jackbmwz4@yahoo.com for more info or my call #.

Best!
Jack

That is seriously sexy. Well worth the money.

I wonder what a black hardtop would look like on another color?

Like it!

Okay I realize this is a for sale thread, but I just had to mention that your car looks awsome with the hardtop.

GL w/ sale, This price is a steal. I used to have a roadster and the dealer in PHX wanted $3700 for the hardtop

Thanks! Then you will appreciate this pic then!

I took this pic in front of my Dealer's showroom on a Sunday. The reflection of 30 foot high glass front came out great!

Price is very fair - you can have a new one for $3,200, or a well kept 4 year old used on for 1/2 the price.

Still available! Several interested and trying to figure out how to pick it up!

Best!
Jack

Hello

Hi Jack,
I was in the market for a hard top for the gorgeous Z4 I bought from you in 2010 and came across your post. The car is still running like a dream and I love it. It would just be better with a hard top now. :-)
