Okay, I am sorry for holding back. Thanks. Why would anyone screw up a perfectly good paint job by putting this crap over it. This is like buying new furniture and then putting those friggin' plastic slip covers over it. How the hell can you enjoy the furniture with plastic slip covers which is almost as bad as having sex with a condom (although this one I can understand if you equate it to driving someone else's car and you are not sure where it has been). Anyway, the only place a clear bra belongs is on a pretty woman in a Z!

I don't know what the quality of the clear bra you saw, but the ones I've seen are pretty much invisible except at certain angles in bright daylight. I think they're pretty neat. They polish up, they durable, clear, and prevent those annoying rock chips. You may change your mind once you get a couple of nasty ones.

Thank you for that one. He is even local. Awesome!!!! I will be looking into this after HC 07. I plan on replacing the bumber and a repaint of the hood.

I hoped that there would be someone local. Thank you again!!!!

No, can't tell from the pics, although I am not sure what the defects are on the front bumper, it is where stone chips hit you? Looks like that or water drops but there are only a couple in a small group.

Why? Maybe you missed post no. 9... I don't think you get it---this keeps the paint from gettin "screwed up." You wanna a screwed up paint job in Florida? Try this...

Haha... you freaked me out for a sec. Yup, those "stonechips" are water drops. I had washed my car and then took pics just before the sun went down (thus couldn't dry it fully in time). It rained the next day too. Damned Seattle weather...

BTW, I have the clear stuff on the hood/bonnet (front part), part of the front quarter panels, headlamps, sideview mirrors, and door edges.

Clear bra looks good. From a distance , you can't see it at all. Do you wax over it or use a plastic cleaner?

Probably wouldn't wax over it. Most waxes tell you not to apply it to plastic parts. I don't see what the harm would be if you really wanted to tho.

I was told to just wax over it, but avoid the bra edges or to use liquid wax for the edges.

So, in a couple of years when I have stone chips and you have peeling edges that are white, brittle and frayed from being in the sun (because ultraviolet light breaks down plastic) which will look better (or worse)?

How many years are you talking about? 'Cause the 3M stuff has a 5 year warranty against peeling, fading, yellowing, etc.

The Z4 with the clear bra will look better than yours for 5 years, and then at the 5 years, 1 day mark, yours will look better. But then at the 5 years, 2 day mark, when all your rock chips start to rust, then the clear bra car will look better again.
