N52 misfiring and ticking

Went to install Milvs and forced the support on cylinder 5 put it back together and very rough misfire and ticking. Took it back apart and found one of the spring legs was not seated on the rocker arm it was resting on the camshaft and left some gouges but the lobes were still fine. Seated the spring and put everything back together still misfiring on cylinder 5 but it doesn’t seem as bad and ticking is still there. Is there something that could’ve hurt my engine when the spring wasn’t seated? What should I check next? Any insight would be appreciated
