Rear Spring Perch
I am finally going to put new springs on my car.
Knowing that installing the HR springs, the rear is going to sit a little lower than the front. After reading most of the threads here in this section, some of you are using up to a 15mm spring pad in the rear to compensate. I have searched for a E46 spring pads but I have only found rear spring pads for the E36. My search parameters may be wrong. What rear spring pad are some of you using? Where did you purchase them from? Trying to get this all accomplished before Sept 19th. edit: I think I answered my own question. Last edited by Shipkiller; 08-26-2013 at 03:07 PM.. Caddy,
To make sure I do not do anything stupid, these spring pads go ON TOP, not on the bottom? |

A good question, but it does not apply to me. I am not running coil overs. At this point in time, I do not want to do coil overs yet.
I am running Bilstein HD's. The only reason I never changed the springs before, was I did not want to run the dampers at the edge or outside of their designed working zone, or be running on the bumpstops, and I really wanted more spring rate. I found out that Bilstein Sports and HD's are designed to work with non-OEM springs (up to a point...) without said drawbacks. This information came directly out of the mouth of a Bilstein Engineer. Plus, I do not throw parts at the car......... |
