'03 3.0 E85 P0709 code transmission

Hello everyone.

I picked up low mileage z4, 6900 miles. Previous owner stated he did scheduled maintenance. Car drives good. Auto trans.

Transmission light has come on, and when restarting car it is off, intermittently.
Code popped up finally P0700 Transmission control system and P0709 Transmission range sensor circuit intermittent.

Quick search revealed

I have not taken the car to dealership or indy yet, was hoping to get additional input. I have not gotten underneath the car to clean the selector switch as is suggested in the thread above.

Anyone else have input?

Thanks!
