Too hot to wash car. 106F in the shade.

Went to a winery in Herman last week with a gravel road leading up to it. Don't want to drive it dirty but don't want to freaking sweat all over it either, washing it. Guess this will help keep the miles down. Supposed to be under 90F tomorrow. Maybe Ill try then.

It's 101F right now on my deck in the shade. I just got my new wheels and tires on earlier in the week, and would love to detail the car, but it's just too damn hot The next two months are brutal here. I keep reminding myself this is what I put up with for "top down" weather the other 10 months

try 116 degrees--day after day- doesn't even cool off at night, then the monsoon season starts so the humidity goes up--my sunglasses fog up when I go outside. Some people here in Az love the hot weather not me-- I head for the mountains in San Diego for the summer. By the way just got new michelin super sports tires-didn't think they would make difference--I was wrong

Surely you are joking about the humidity in the desert? I remember being in Vegas when it was over 120 and not being too uncomfortable in long sleeves.

Same here. Last time I was on business in the Southwest, it was 110 and it was more comfortable than the upper 90s here with the 90% humidity we have in the summer.............. not to diminish the heat there in the AZ desert, I know it's hot, but the humidity jacks the heat index and more importantly the uncomfortable factor considerably. I guess the bottom line is none of us want to be outside detailing our rides, even in the shade

It's a myth that the desert heat in a dry heat, during monsoon season moist air drifts in from the Baja of Mexico, Phx and Tucson get dangerous dust storms and rain --downpours make the washes very difficult to cross. All that standing water makes things pretty sticky. Here in Yuma--we don't too much rain --just the humidity

Anyone that has ever been to a desert would probably disagree.

Gee, it was only 104 today in the shade, but at least now at 4:45 it's cooled off to a balmy 102 in the shade That detail is just going to have to wait

Guess I should feel lucky, only about 100 here. Even then this is drinking and jacuzzi/pool weather. I'm not going outside unless its to get in water.

Currently 96 here and 16% humidity, but it gets drier later in the summer.
And I'm only on the very edge of the desert.
Currently 112 and 7% humid farther in.

After living just outside Chicago for 40 years, and now 12 years out here, I can tell you that the "dry heat" does make a big BIG difference,

It's only 64F in SF right now. I wish it was warmer but not that warm!

Hottest memory

Not the hottest I've been in but hot enough

Early May - 125F 100 RH @ 530am on the coast of Jubail in Saudi Arabia. We only noticed cause we were digging our armored Suburban out of the sand(no bonus points for the driver that day). Place gets so hot that the most reliable car there (Nissan Patrol) used points and condensor vice electronic ignition.

Mid summer - in the desert we saw 145F w/no humidity. Kinda like the high desert in 29 Palms

Makes me feel a little better about the 107F in southern Georgia last week.

The heat wave finally broke - in the low 90's today, actually quite pleasant when I washed the car at 8 pm. I love washing her, hate the wheels though...

106 degrees didn't keep up from playing 5 games of rugby in a 7's tournament on Saturday! I sure do like the high 80's better though.
