CSL/ZCP Wheel on Z4M's, Give me your insight and pics :)
Even though I am probably one of the few that loves the factory wheels on the Z4M, I am thinking that I should get a set of CSL's,
Firstly does anyone have any pics of them on an Imola M? Cheapest place Ive seen for these are Tischer unless anyone knows otherwise, and for those who have them, Any difference in feel? I hear the M3 guys (E46) say the car felt better due to the lightness of the rim, any truth to this? Feel free to post as many pictures as you like , I still need a little convincing

cheapest place is probably searching the used wheel sections of bimmerforums and e46fanatics.
In terms of weight... for the E46 M3 guys that went from oem E46 19s to E46 CSL/ZHP 19s, I could see how they might have felt a difference (although some people also think their cars are faster after a wash/wax, so I'd take people's impressions on the internet with a grain of salt - depending on the source). However, moving to 19" CSLs on an mcoupe which comes with 18"s that aren't too too heavy... I doubt you'll notice much of a difference. Not sure on the exact weights of each wheel though. But I'd imagine they are nearly the same and/or the stock 18s might even be lighter. That said, CSLs do look good on the z4m, albeit, they maybe a bit played out across all models of BMWs. But I guess that speaks to how amazing they look on lots of models. I will not lie, I've considered them myself. Lastly, depending on your purposes, if you are just daily driving with these wheels I would just get reps from VMR. They are cheap and if you curb / bend one you won't be completely upset. If I were to buy a brand new set of CSL wheels from the dealer, I think I would sooner consider many other aftermarket wheels before dishing out that much money for oem BMW wheels from the E46. Just my opinion though. GL.

I love the factory wheels on our cars just too heavy for me. I think most of the five spokes look good.
Check out Vorschlag, nice five spoke and light weight and cheap. http://vorshlag.com/advanced_search_...ywords=d+force are these the CSL's? http://dreamingwell.com/forumPictures/CIMG2856.JPG |

^ do you know the exact weight's of our wheels? I was guessing mid 20s (23-26) lbs range.
Although not the lightest... I think oem CSLs are about identical in weight. I know CSL reps from VMR run about 24 lbs to 26 lbs depending on size. There are lots of great light wheels out there for cheap though.

front: 24.69 lbs
rear: 25.79 lbs heavy!! Im planning on getting the OZ wheels, Tire Rack is always a great place for wheels. 19 and 18 lbs I really wish Enkei made the rpfo1's in 18's four our cars, I love those, aggresive look and I have never seen them on a Z4 because they dont exist |

For oem wheel weight, yeah, that is a decent amount, but it doesn't cause me any heartache since that's what I assumed they were all along

The weight savings really isn't what attracts me to them,
I think they are a very attractive rim and the Z4M does tend to suit the 19" rim a bit better than the 18,

Tischer is cheapest for new ZCPs, though a bit of searching should turn up nice used ones for less. The CSLs are 23lb front and 24.2 rear, iirc - not a huge weight savings over stock. The ZCPs are a smidge lighter up front as they're narrower.

I ment the rpf1's
sorry no 5x120 for an 18x8. You can get them, just not to oem specs. I just need a lighter stock wheel for stock AX class rules. Quote:

heres my Genuine CSL wheels, i did notice on track the car drives better, probably due to the slightly wider rubber, with pilot sport cups on the car drives like an animal i love it, the wheels are slightly lighter than the oem 18s but mostly the look fantastic, i had mine powder coated in gunmetal which i think looks the business!! pics below, im running 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 These are the sizes the actual CSL ran and i find these to work really well with the z4m, pics below.

Those do look rather nice mate!,
Splits up the silver a lot, BTW do you notice any rattles from the rear exhaust heatshields with the center diffuser missing? Also something for you in return Have a look at these to cover up the top of the suspension turrets, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Sho...d=370246172625 They look much nicer than the gaping holes (these are not them, I made these myself but what I pointed you too are just as good)

starscream, great shout on those strut top covers, i NEED them ive been trying to find some for ages so a big thankyou, on the diffuser no i dont run without the rear diffuser, this was during the install so i was just taking pics before i put the diffuser back on, i personally wouldnt run without it as i believe it aids cooling to the rear diff. again thank you so much for the tip on the strut covers, i actually think my gunmetal CSLs would looks awsome on your imola ///m!! what do you think?? if you do go with these wheels try and source genuine CSLs as the slightly wider front is desirable imo. if i can help with this let me know as their is more of a plentiful supply over here and im willing to help wherever i can!!

Ive noticed there is a ton of them for sale back home,
They only ever get imported over here so they are very tough to come by, I think I'd have to settle for the ZCP rims, At least they have a decent supply in the States, I am going to go for standard silver, I like the look of fresh silver rims and although I like the gunmetal I think id prefer silver, and no worries on the caps, I bought a set myself actually as a backup and they are very good quality, They are black wrinkle finish plastic and does the job very well,

What do you guys think of the EAS VMR CSL Replicas? I was thinking about getting them in 19" Jet Antracite. They're about $1,000 and 25lbs, same weight as stock 18s.
Or, I'm also considering the Forgestar 19" F14s. They're about $1,400 and 22.5 front and 24.5 rear. Would I notice much difference from 25lbs to 22.5lbs? I do autocross and track the car. Also, how much are the ZCPs?

Yes, they look good on the car. I'd recommend looking around E46 M3 forums. Since I change back and forth between these any my stock wheels about every 3-4 weeks, I can tell you they are noticeably lighter. Stock wheels have Dunlop Star Specs, and these have worn Sumitomo.

Yeah I like the gunmetal look,
but I think the standard silver will look better, Haven't ever seen a imola roadster with CSL's, I did see a picture of a M Coupe with CSL's and it looked incredible
