Help! My z4 m coupe trunk won't close without slamming real hard!

I noticed my trunk has been getting harder and harder to close recently. I had some luggage stuffed in there the other day and may have damaged something forcing it shut. I have to slam it real hard to close now. It takes way more than a normal amount of force. I've tried messing with the key button and interior trunk release but nothing. What do you think it could be? Hope it's not a pricey fix.

Try turning those two rubber bumpers on each side of the body that contact the lid a few turns to reduce their height...I have a feeling that'll solve your problem.

Hmm, I've never touched those before. Do they move over time?

That what I was thinking since it still shuts, but with force. I'll also try the knobs on the body. I have left the car alone since it's been raining and I don't want to open the trunk and not be able to close. Will take it to a shop to checkout

My e30 does this when cold but never on my z4. Plus I'm in San Diego and it doesn't get any colder than 50 degrees.

If nothing else helps, keep pushing down a little when the lid is closing. Don't slam it, just use gentle force.
