BTW - When are the scoops supposed to be off back order?
Scoops are in stock and ready to ship. Black ones are shipping usually the same day of the order and red ones are +1-2 days.

We are trying to get 3.5" tips in there. The tips we were using were straight out of out opel and porsche exhaust which helped keep the cost down. Our initial prototype yeilded 19-20hours of labor for just the tips alone so they really are nice. The tips are actually 8 pipes (4 per side). The inside pipes are flared out then the edges are welded to the outside pipe/tip. The welds are then grinded down and then polished. The sound and look is there. Our main concern now is just the power.

how are there 4 tips per side at 3.5 inches. Would 3.5 inch pipes be too close to the bumper and would it burn it. do you have pictures of the tips. Have you done dyno testing? It is mufflers right, not staight pipes? Is there an x pipe available? sorry for all the questions just wondering though.

The larger tip is 3.5 while the staggered smaller tip (on the outside will be 3"). Here are the tips we are using: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/2003565-post2.html
Yes we have done dyno testing. We ALWAYS dyno test EVERYTHING. Thats why we are looking for a few more local Z4s to dyno so we can confirm the results on multiple cars and not just one car. At this time, it is the rear section only. The X-pipe is not always going to be beneficial for all cars. I think its a great way to "market" something since the X-pipe bandwagon has been full for a while. We tried an x-pipe for the M5 last year and it dropped about 15-20whp.

so are you going to sell two tip style, one with all 4 tips at 3.25 and another with 2 at 3.5 and 2 at 3?

The final production will ONLY be available with one tip configuration. What that will be is not decided yet. Our main concern is the hp right now. When we develope an exhaust, the priorities are as follows.

- HP
- Sound
- Cosmetic

Well, we need to have the original exhaust back from Laidback but because of the busy schedule, he has not been able to come in for us to take it off for further testing.

Its all good man. I know you are busy pimpin. haha. I gave the stock mufflers to Q so hes much closer to you than we are. If you can, please swing by his shop and he will swap them out so I can get that jig made up as soon as we confirm the dyno numbers with another car.

If you can deliver in the stated price range I would pay today with some reasonable guarantee of a delivery date. At the very least I would be willing to make a deposit if you guys want to get a GB going. BTW, I very much prefer the look of equal sized tips, staggered in the valence like the stock ones. The staggered diameter tips seem a little 'gimmicky' to me.

I think the exhaust looks sick . Would the cans be able to to bolt up to the super sprint x pipe. If so i would definitely rock it.

No need for a deposit but the price will be close to as targetted. We cant guarantee a delivery date. AS you can see, we are even having delays trying to get our original prototype back. (cough cough.laidback. LOL)

The rear will bolt to the stock flanges. If the SS x-pipe bolts to the stock rear mufflers, than it might bolt on with no problem. There are no guarantees of performance with the SS x-pipe though.

Pricing has been set to $660 pending dyno results. This is an axle back exhaust set up.
