Views on Additions to Inspection I

So I am approaching inspection I, 250 km away (about 2 weeks for me).

I am approaching 52000 km and put about 8000 km a year on the car. Not sure how long I'll keep it. I love it and its the longest I've ever had a car (almost 4 years), but I do tend to wander.

I've researched and found opposing views on whether one should bother with adding additional items to inspection I.

Specifically what I am considering in addition to inspection I,
is a coolant flush and fill, gonna run me about $200 at an indy shop
and a new air filter which will run me about $120 at the same shop.

Would you bother with these additional items or just stick with inspection I as per BMW?

I would do both, but the prices you are quoted are very high. It takes about 30 mins to do a coolant change with material costs of about $25 using the correct BMW coolant and new crush washer. The air filter should cost about $30 for the BMW part and take less than 5 minutes to change. I'm assuming the indy you are using accesses parts at wholesale rates as opposed to paying Canadian dealer prices, then adds their own mark-up to that cost.
