Should buy a bunch for the savings, and sell the rest to us at the discounted price, with maybe a couple of bucks extra to cover for shipping, etc.
I'd be down to religiously use this every two fill-ups or so. |

Years ago a mechanic I trusted said you should run Techron right before you change your oil, as it will degrade it. I remember researching it and not finding much to back up his theory. Anyone else ever hear something similar?

Same issue for me. If I use MAC4 it shows up but when I check out there is no 15% discount taken. Also tried the $20 off 50 and same result. No discount. I would go for 8 bottles($52) and then take $20 off picking them up at my store. No go though.

Even so, isnt $6.50 a bottle still just a ridiculous deal? regardless if you cant use any more coupons or discounts....

Does anyone know what the shelf life are for these things? I mean, if I order4 or 5 bottles and don't use them all up within the next year or two, will they go bad?

Not sure about the shelf life. And thats a great question from elerner61 about the oil getting degraded. I'll have to ask my indy about that tomorrow, and what he thinks...
lifted 8 bottles in the store yesterday. buy 1, get 1 free. $6.50 each. Thanks OP! I'm more excited to see what this will do to my 540i with 99k miles on the clock, as its never had a fule treatment done before. should make a difference I would think.

Did a little more searching: Conclusion is you don't need to change your oil right after adding Techron BUT don't do more than 5 Techron adds to the same oil.
Here's two threads (one with a response from Chevron, one from a Bob is The Oil Guy thread) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=492475 http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...Number=2082415 |

I've tried Techron and it's OK I guess... Honestly there really isn't a lot of gain to be had by fuel injector cleaners, ESPECIALLY stuff off the shelf. Just like drugs, anything off the shelf is made for the people with the mindset that "if some is good more must be better", when that's not always the case.
I have had noticeable results with a product called BG 44k. It's about $20/can but it did actually make my engine run noticeably smoother (in a different car but results should be similar).. Worst best, in my experience, adding it to a full gas tank and then doing as much highway driving as possible. For newer/lower mile cars like most of ours, I don't really think it does a whole lot. I mean, it can't really hurt but I don't think it's doing a whole lot.
