Can I make the Nav screen stay closed?

Is there a way to make the NAV screen not open when playing music? I just installed the soundplicity III and it has the song info displayed on the screen which is fine. The challenge is that if I close the nav screen it will open right back up because it's sensing new information (the music text.)

Is there a way to tell it to ignore input like that? I have a hunch there isn't...

Close it "manually" with the up/down arrow.

Doesn't look like there's a way to disable it and Bavsound confirmed it's a "feature"

Actually it could be either ...

Duck Tape

Back to the matter at hand, you could splice a switch into the screen's power lead, and mount it somewhere unobtrusive like the panel under the AC controls.

not a big enough deal to warrant monkeying with. I was just hoping there was a hidden menu option somewhere that I wasn't aware of.

Despite my earlier attempt at humor, I wouldn't be surprised if there was something buried way down in the way the car's options and features are coded that might address this. If you have access to one of those devices that lets you code the car, you could look into it.

Cheers!

Nope. I already checked codemycar.com

Unrelated, but it's got tons of goodies when I do my X5

I'm almost certain my method works...I often had to do that for track days when I don't want my nav screen to pop up. All you had to do, is use the manual adjustment buttons on the left of the nav screen to lower it to its lowest setting (which is the closed position) and it won't ever pop back open again.

Thanks Hack. Not exactly the solution I was looking for but at least I know it exists.
