I almost forgot why I like this car...
So I've kinda been eyeing the new 2015 Mustang, I think it’s a beautiful car and finally has a real rear suspension. I kept telling myself to just wait till 2016 so bugs can be worked out of the new generation, but I was starting to fall in love.
Then the other day after a car wash and on the way into the bank, a hottie in a suit says “wow, that’s a beautiful car”. And again on the way out, separate hottie, practically drooling says “Nice car, bet it’s fun to drive”. Then I remembered what it was I liked about this car. I think the Z4 is a timeless design that may someday be considered a classic and people may already start to see it that way. The new Mustang may be pretty, but will it get that kind of attention when it’s model design is 13 years old?

Mustangs will always get attention from some people, but the Z4 seems to draw more attention due to the general lack of consumer knowledge about the car.
I think it is why so many people are shocked when they hear that it's an 03-08.

Same. I get a "nice car!" comment pretty often. People at work thought I bought a brand new BMW too. lol

When my mother turned 65 she bought a Mustang. Ever since then, the whole family refers to them as "old lady cars". That can really tick off an owner LOL.

Mustangs are really nice cars, but let's be honest, they are an absolute dime a dozen. I could throw a baseball over my shoulder and hit one, then the ball would ricochet and hit another. They are EVERYWHERE.
I like driving cars that you don't see very often, though at this point the Mustang is no doubt a better car than the Z4M in just about every performance category. |

My plumber was over the other day to do some maintenance in the garage...he saw the M coupe and asked what new BMW model that was, ha ha. He was shocked to learn it was a 2007. My favorite car, the E39 M5, did not get a glance, confirming it's status as the ultimate Q car - which I love as it is my DD.

It is funny that the drivers that get the most 'Testosteroned' when I am driving my Lucy are the Mustang drivers. I think maybe that breed of Horse does not like my little white horse. I never even give them the attention they desire, I just laugh and go about my business.

Since I have stopped driving my M Coupe daily, I get far more compliments about the car. People that have no clue as to what it is make the comments, Is that a Ferrari, what is that, is that a Viper, then after the dumb question and my answer its always, that car is so cool.

Overall, it's kind of annoying, and really I'd rather be in the situation where people knew I earned what I drove and not assumed that I'm some other really rich kid. 25 years old and I pay all my own bills including student loans, aint nothin but disrespekt here in Austin. |

Anytime I bring my coupe out, at least once I'm asked to roll the window down and asked what kind of car is that etc. My buddy with sharp looking 335ix always gets a bit annoyed when we drive about together bc nobody asks or gawks at his ride....and I tell him the reason is simple...no matter how nice or done up your car, is it'll always be a "me too" car. Our cars are simply rare pieces of art.

I'll throw a twist in.
The DMV inspector was convinced my car was a 4 cylinder and that I modified it.

LOL - I added 2 more cylinders. I have 6 more cylinders on order for a full V12 in Spring.
