Dayum dude - how many miles was your total trip??? I wasn't really aware you had taken it all the way over to the east coast.

The final tally was just over 11,000 miles. :rocks:

The best part about that factoid is that I was having some trouble with my lower back just before leaving, which worried me a bit. But the seats in the Z are so damn comfortable and have such good support, my backache totally went away.

What a great trip. You should post a route map and hopefully the pics in between the west and the east, what happened, you went from Boise Idaho/Nevada to Key West!!!! Does that car fly?

Holy Smokes, You're right! I completely skipped to Florida. Since we'd talked about the Grand Canyon, I was thinking I'd posted them already. I'll see if I can come up with a rout map when I get a chance.

So, out of sequence:

Here's bluesie at the Grand Canyon. It was mighty Grand, allright, and like I said, was the first place that humbled Bluesie's good looks. There aren't a lot of good places for photo opps with a car, there, but here's one.

Here's Bluesie and the Volcano.

Here she is basking in Sedona.

There's this whole other angle to the trip that I haven't gone into that provide some ammusing pics, but they don't have Bluesie in them. I may post them later, to fill in the gaps, just for fun. More to come.

Standard seats in leather, not the M seats. I find them extremely comfortable.

I have the sport seats, and every guy riding with me has complained about them because they are very fitted. I like them because they do hold you in place so you don't slip and slide, but I guess some find the bolsters hit at the wrong place.

Just curious which you had since you found them so comfortable.

I find my M Sport Seats very comfortable, but I don't have any love handles

Man, these are great pictures and a great adventure. I need to start working on a plan to get a month off from work, and then a plan to convince my wife to ride shotgun for 11K miles! That route map will be a great help when you get around to it (no rush, the convincing will take me some time in and of itself!)

Well, if you have a couple of weeks or so, from where you live, I can tell you right off the bat that the very very best driving of my trip was the Blueridge Parkway. It wasn't the most "muscular" driving I did by any stretch, but it's unbelievably awesome, stretching 600 miles plus through Skyline Drive in Virginia all the way down through the Smokey Mountains, nearly to Georgia. At the southern end, you are then within throwing distance to the famed "Tail of the Dragon", which I unfortunately, took a pass on due to some time choices I had to make.

It's funny. I took almost six weeks, which sounds like a long time. But I had to pass up tons and tons of good stuff even so. This country is just FULL of great places to go. But my highest reccomendation is without question the Parkway.

Tell your wife that it is a very "romantic" drive, which it definitely is. Lots of Virginians go to Skyline on their honeymoons. That might give you an edge in negotiations.

We have been to Skyline Drive, but not with the Z, and only the norther VA part. I agree, absolutely beautiful. But I also want to beat your 125 mile adventure and I love those wide open spaces too! A Zen moment for sure.
