Noob connector question

The connector to one of my tailights needs to be replaced. One or two of the pins from my old tail light have corroded and broke inside the connector.

I have purchased a new connector and would like to swap them out.

Can anybody please let me know how I can open and remove the old connector to swap the new one on?

As I recall, if you pop off the white piece it will reveal small tabs on the metal pins that lock them into the plastic housing.
Carefully push down on the tab while pulling on the wire.
Use an Exacto to fluff the tab back up before pushing it into the new housing.
