Rob, long time no see! im glad you still have the car! we all need to get together again sometime. I believe the break in fluid is still oem fluid, then a flush at 1200 miles, but i could be wrong. Where do you plan to get the gears installed at? PTECH?

My foot was giving problem for a few months. After feeling better, I have to catch up on my other projects. We definitely should get together but holidays are coming fast.
I plan on doing this myself. Of course, a shop will install R&P. The reason I am tackling this myself is I want to replace all the bushings since I am there. The total cost will be around $1500 from my calculation to upgrade to 4.10. Last edited by RobMCoupe; 11-13-2014 at 01:25 PM.. |

Why don't you guys swap a proper LSD unit while you're in there. the stock unit is ridiculous ...
Wheel speed difference driven pump is as far away from racing as you can think... diffsonline for example sells E39 M5 40% lock LSD for a reasonable offer ... http://diffsonline.com/rebuilt-210mm...clutch-40.html 1200$ This is something that will change the car's character |

Another option is Jim Blanton @ Performance Gearing. I'm huge on customer service, and PG blew me away with the seamless process. I told Jim that my car was a daily driver and I wanted minimal downtime. He worked with me to have my new diff shipped on time and within budget scope, as well as gave me a whole month's time if needed to return the core unit for some cost savings. Everything was done within 1 week. Can't really get much better than that! |

that's the way to do it! GB ftw lol.
In any case, I personally chose to stick with stock 3.62 just for more useability. Since I felt like even with my old 3.91s, I was running out of gearing too quick for my liking; and now that I'm supercharged, I would like the option to stay in gear a little bit longer |
