The Residual Effect in the light. The location of the bulb is noticable and the effect isn't very prominent.

But at night it looks great.

Looks great at night...but a white light is almost invisible during day time. One reason why I kept my amber on all turn signal indicators.

Looks great, and you got the glow on!
XMetal, you're in SoCal, too, so you realize that around here the side turn signal just tips off the guy in the lane next to you to floor it and block you out.

Those pictures in light/dark are NOT of the turn signal activated. They are just the residual glow that was talked about earlier in the thread. They get MUCH brighter when activated.

Thanks.

Now I gotta do the three corner bulbs so they match. I'm assuming those bulbs are monitored? Not sure if I can do LEDs there.

Looks like yours glow more than mine do. What bulbs did you end up getting?
I changed the WY5W in my front corners to W5W. The LEDs I tried at the time were too big in diameter, and I was afraid I would get it in there and not be able to get it out.
I didn't want bulbs rattling around loose in the headlight assembly.

Oh! I missed that post. I'm going to get those, too.
I want to buy this, and I was waiting for something to put me over the $35 free shipping mark.

Devious FWIW I had the red eBay film on my tails (e85) and they faded after a while. In the past I've used www.laminx.com so I went back to that, ordered it last week for this summer. It's much higher quality stuff than what I got from eBay

FWIW I have Headlight Armor on my headlights.
It started out blue, but after a year it's clear.
I think they have tail light film, and it will probably do the same.

Whites. The current whites look very yellow. I want LEDs to have a nice clean white.

Isn't one or more of them used for the turn signals?

The corner markers are unmonitored and the lens is clear. You can go nuts on those.
The two across the bottom are turn signals, are monitored, and have amber glass lenses inside.

Cool. That makes things a bit easier. Pretty sure my amber lenses are removed.

I'll just have to figure out which LEDs to try for the h21's. Was thinking maybe these?

So I sent that Amazon seller a message and they never replied.

So moving on, what do you think about these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-White-Err...b0d874&vxp=mtr

Do they look right for the 4 I need up front?

I researched this quite a bit last night after having to replace an inboard front turn signal.
What an ordeal. Took me about half an hour.

I see 3 possible problems with the ones you're proposing.
1) I'm pretty sure the base on the H21W in the front turn signals is a BAY9s, (not BA9s, which is straight across like on the angel eyes).
Looks like those are BAX9s. They have a different angle on the pins.

2) The H21W has 600 lumens. That's a lot of punch. You may find these to be too dim. This is the closest thing I've found, 300-400 lumens, but I don't know if the heads will fit into the fixture, and there's little doubt they'll cause an error.

3) The front turn signals are also run at low power as marker lights. Results will be unpredictable with LEDs. I wouldn't call this a major concern. I don't know how they're dimmed. If they're run at partial voltage, the LED might not light at all. If they're pulsed, it may work just fine.

I'm seriously considering the Bimmian LED rear turn signals, and maybe the 1156/7506 LEDs for the main brake lights.
But I have the "panic brake light mod" and I'd hate to put LEDs in the main brake lights and have H21Ws in the panic lights.
So I'm thinking about putting the 50W CREEs in the panic lights. Don't really have to worry about a bulb out warning with those. You only get it under actual panic braking, and it clear's by itself after <60 seconds.
And if they're not as bright as the H21W, that's OK too. They'll balance better with the main brake lights. With the H21Ws, they're like death rays.

Maybe tomorrow I'll have a look and see if the heads are likely to fit into the fixture.
They don't give dimensions, but I think I can estimate from the picture.
