Maybe 3000 miles on them (I had just put them on as new rubber on my OEM wheels when I swapped the dunlops that were on them to my track wheels). Question is, though -- how do I get them off of the car?

Oh, and buy out from the insurance co (if anyone's interested) is $12,269.
How many miles on the car (sorry if I missed that earlier in the thread)? Off the bat, seems pretty close to market value to me and not a bad deal. You should be able to get back into a nice one for roughly the same amount...

22k. Oil changed every 3k miles, hand washed weekly, waxed monthly, leather conditioned twice a year, only driven in rain when caught out in it, never saw ice or snow -- All things that matter to me but not to the bottom line -- Oh well.

Oh, I figured that was the state of care, and things that put a value on it for you, but which the insurance isn't going to recognize.

Like I said before, and having just shopped for one (private and dealer), I think they're giving you market value based on mileage and condition. I think you can find one to replace it in the ballpark of what they're offering. Happy hunting.

He can't sell them to you. Once the insurance company settles, the car is theirs. They will sell it to a recycler who certainly will be expecting to receive wheels and tires on the car.

I was wondering how long it would take for the Vultures to start circling.

I keep forgetting I don't have the car any longer. I keep reading threads on here and thinking "Hey, I need to do that" (like swapping to the other key to keep things charged properly) only to realize that while I still have the extra key, I don't have the car to charge it in. Drat!

You could always take it in and see if the dealer will charge it for you.

There's a Space Gray/Imola Red/Carbon Leather 2008 Z4MC with only 4000 miles for sale at European Motors in Addison TX. That appears to be quite near Ft. Worth. There were only 10 Z4MCs made with that combination of colors and trim.

Mine didn't cause damage to the front bumper by screwing holes into it (I had a GoMiniGo adapter to keep the bumper in hole-less shape). All semi-jesting aside, I wish I could find the space-grey on imola car you mentioned as that was the original color combo I was looking for when I got mine...

jragan,

Sorry to hear about the accident.
I just bought a CPO Imola Red, with front license plate but they wouldn't drop $5K for it :-(

I am looking to buy Enkei NT03 wheels, if for some reason you are selling yours, please let me know, text me at 512-296-3453.

Thanks
Frank

Haven't heard from jragan in over a week. He may have abandoned us. Perhaps the allure of some other brand or model has stolen his heart.

Sorry kids, kinda been in a holding pattern to see how everything falls out. They just received the police report yesterday and I finally got the call from the elderly woman's insurance (who happened to have the same insurance as I do) and they told me the police report did, in fact, find her at fault (failure to yield) and they agreed with the determination (do they have the option not to?). So, aside from the fact that Ruby is driving through fields in Elysium with the sun on her bonnet, everything's going to work out as well as it can for the situation.

I did get some unfortunate news about the elderly woman, though (Marilyn), turns out that even though she was taken home by the police (chose not to go in the ambulance, etc) she ended up in ICU with broken sternum, ribs and a punctured lung. She's now in a rehab facility. Having gone through similiar situation repeated times with my grandmother (no car wrecks, just lots of falls and different broken parts), I can't help but feel some sadness for her state.

Auto-wise, I really don't know what I'm going to do. I still have my QX4 that's paid off, I'm getting married in a month and the fiancee' is starting a new OB/GYN practice. My plan is to sell my house so we can buy a new house together, and then there's all the new loans we'll be taking for her new practice. All these things together tickle my practicality bone and tell me I should hold off on a car for a bit. But then, maybe, my brain's just been in limbo waiting for the police report (I know nothing was my fault, but I just needed that final confirmation).

If I had to pick between cars right now (no particular order):
  • 09/10 Audi S5 (maybe pick up a Spec-Miata later or even an Ariel Atom)
  • 07/08 BMW E86 ///M Coupe
  • 09/10 Porsche 987.2 Cayman S
  • 07/08 Dodge Viper

Audi S5 is a gorgeous car, that would be first in my book.
