built in date= that year model??

hi
my car was built in 10/2006
but I bought it as a 07 model
from dealer.....
can anyone answer my question?

09/06 is the cut off date,

10/06 is a 07 MY,

same as 09/07 is a 2007, and 10/07 is a 2008
