Need a cheap car cover? $22.67 at WalMart...

Yes, I know, it's Wal Mart But I digress...

I have been renovating my house so money has been tight, not to mention the holidays are coming up. Having said all that, I didn't want to invest $200+ in a BMW car cover this year.

So for the heck of it, I was at Wal Mart and looked at what they had for car covers.

They had a car cover for $22! I did a double take on the price.

The company that produces the covers, Budge Industries (funny name ) is out of PA. I am sure for $22 it is made in China.

They only had a size "3" which was one size larger than the box suggested for the Z4...I bought it anyway, for $22 how could I go wrong? I unboxed it and put it on and it fits great! It's funny as this thing sells for double on the companies website...

I am usually a firm believer of getting the right product for the job...in this case though, this cover fits great, you walk out the door for under $25. The fabric is actually good quality -- this is an indoor cover only.

For those who want something to cover their car with, go check it out and save the rest of the money for your kids this Christmas.

No, it will not fit nearly as nice as the BMW car cover or a custom one, but for a quick fix, you can't beat the price...

Chris

I bought something similar on eBay. Nothing fancy, but well worth its indoor-covering abilities for $27

I bought the size 4 at my local Walmart (the size 3 they had was the heavy duty version). It is simply for my using in my garage. Works great and for less than $25 I can simply throw it out if it gets dirty. Also has a movable hole for the antena.

Nice, I'm glad you were able to find one! Exactly, if it gets dirty, throw it out and get another

Glad to hear this post is saving a few bucks for everyone...

I get mine oem from Craigslist. Last one was almost brand new and cost me $75. Fits like a glove and looks good. NOAH material and great quality. I'm not skimping to put swirls in my paint. Sometimes a cover is worse than nothing at all. Times see tough, and the OP's idea is nice to have (thanks), but I don't think it is worth it to compromise in quality on a cover - you may pay for it later. Just like people with the old style car bras -- seems good until you take it off and realize the damage. Better to pay up for a clearbra or use nothing at all. In my opinion, the same principle applies here.

Depends where your car is being stored. Mine is in a garage, so I don't have to worry about wind moving the cover around. I'm happy with this cheapo cover, but I wouldn't depend on this cover to protect the Z4 outside all winter. I learned from using a cover on my former bike that covers can actually collect debris way up inside and when you take it off, there is dust and twigs and crap everywhere. But inside a garage that rarely gets opened, I think the low-end covers are fine.

Yep, I go to the dealer to make sure I get BMW air in my tires too .

Walmart cover is a good deal; sticker price isn't an indication of anything other than what someone somewhere will pay.
